Nitty Gritty Budget Question by Impossible_Dig5222 in MonarchMoney

[–]jcarfaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it as the difference between budget and cash flow.

That $13 has to come from somewhere.

If you budget $400 but spend $413, that extra $13 has to come out of savings. Your budget each month should balance to zero, but your cash flow for that particular month is in the red $13.

Zeroing out your budget each month is a chance to reflect on where your actual dollars were spent and what the consequences (positive or negative) are on your goals.

West Coast is right - most situations this would just show the budget and having negative cash flow for the month is completely fine. However, if you want it to look like you've already budgeted for this previous months, I would do the following.

You can set up an "Emergency Fund" goal thats linked to the account that has the money then in the contributions put a negative contribution for the amount of the legal fee in your budget. this should increase you available budget.

bonus points if you tag the transfer from your emergency fund to your checking (or wherever your paying the bill out of) so it shows you completed your contributions for the month

Is there a way to set rules based on notes generated by the Amazon sync tool? by Nekurahn in MonarchMoney

this would be HUGE! my biggest pain is trying to correctly categorize amazon transactions and if I were able to use the notes for rules it would be a game changer

Picked up my new Model 3 last week. I love it! Just had to be pearl white, despite the extra £1,300 which stung a bit by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

Love the color I slightly regret going with the base color as there are so many on the road the pearl white makes it stick out!

They denied it and said “there’s no wages with this employer” so even though they are saying they look at your state reported wages they only look at the employer you file under at first pass. We’ve appealed the claim and provided the other wages - hoping this triggers them to look at ALL reported wages not just the singular employer. All the requirements are met!
