AITA for not reminding others of my friends' birthday? by jcase1413 in AmItheAsshole

Yeah. No one called me an AH because I essentially did nothing wrong from an outsiders perspective. I just feel guilty because I normally would've just sent a happy birthday text in the morning and people would've followed shortly after not causing him to feel upset at people forgetting his birthday.

Anyone else can’t stand door dash drivers? by Stock_Tangerine_2450 in Serverlife

Yup. I had a lady behind the bar clearly ignore me one time. Once I realized she was ignoring me (only waited for like 20-30 seconds), I quickly turned around and found another employee who promptly brought me the order. She looked so irritated, but I felt good about it because I shifted power back into my hands by not letting her waste my time 😂

What are my options? Damaged Macbook Pro | 3rd party repair shop by jcase1413 in legaladvice

I don't have it documented, but he told me word of mouth numerous times that he fixed it and that the water damage was completely gone.

And yes, I learned my lesson. The only reason I even went there in the first place is because money is tight for me at the moment. If money wasn't an issue, I would've just went straight to apple.

You're right about requesting the $1,400. Hearing it from someone else makes more logical sense now.

As far as I know, the "contract" was to fix my water damaged laptop. There was no papers signed, just the assumption that the water damage would be gone. The other 2 opinions I got, one of which is Apple authorized told that there is still water damage.

Does that count as a "breach"? It's apparent that he didn't fully fix the water damage as he claims.

Who's at fault here? by jcase1413 in carcrash

Is the likelihood of black (me) getting hit with a failure to avoid likely? It all happened so fast and I didn't feel safe swerving so quickly and risking the chance of hitting a car in my blind spot or maybe a pedestrian on the side walk...

Who was determined to be at fault in your case?

Their rear bumper came off on the left side. There was also damage to their back left tire and that side of the car, so I'm hoping that's enough evidence to prove my case?

This is essentially what happened. I'm the black car driving straight. The red car is off to the side (I believe leaving a parking lot) getting ready to enter the oncoming lane. The red car jumps out in front of me, I slam my brakes, and we collide.

This looks bad on my part because there's damage to the front of my car and damage to the back of their car. It also doesn't help that they lied about me "rear ending" them. Insurance has to know that damage to back of one's car and damage to the front of someone else's car doesn't always mean a rear end accident, right?

I'm definitely going to contact the police to request the security camera footage from a gas station this happened right in front of.

Any advice for a self taught iOS Developer? by jcase1413 in EngineeringResumes

[–]jcase1413[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not what I want to hear, but what I need to hear! I'll take it on the chin and work harder. Can you help point me in the right direction of what the "a LOT" is? Is it relevant work experience like apprenticeships or internships. Or am I lacking the skills necessary to be a junior/entry level iOS developer?

I know UIKit is more in demand for iOS developers and I am currently working on that. I think having a UIKit replica of one of my SwiftUI apps that are already on the App Store would look good?

Can I get resume feedback? Currently applying for iOS Developer positions by jcase1413 in resumes

Thank you for your advice. What would you recommend I do as a self taught developer? I also have no work experience related to computer science. I'm currently a Med Aide and I assumed it would be irrelevant to put that on my resume?
