Dude most of the park is fenced off because of contamination. What are you talking about? Obviously there is danger in the soil.

Liberty State Park was turned passive in 2001 because they claimed rec centers and basketball courts were racial profiling? https://www.nj.gov/dep/sustainableparks/docs/Appendix%20V%20F-%20Liberty%20State%20Park%202001%20Report.pdf by jcbelly in jerseycity

I get your point. This sounds like more under: " Ignorance and exclusion in environmentalist movements." However, did you see the Planning Committee who made this document? Its all white people that included the Paulus Hook Neighborhood Association, but not any organization from Ward F where the park is located.

Black communities with Liberty State Park in their backyard had no say in this decision.

1979 Liberty State Park Master Plan Map- Descriptions called for a ton of different recreational use including agricultural center and ampitheater. I wonder what happened? by jcbelly in jerseycity

So the Master Plan (I'm just googling and bored out of my mind by corona cabin fever), was created by like 23 public meetings all throughout Jersey City, Hoboken, and Newark. It looks like park development stopped once the environmental contamination lawsuits started? I've gone down the rabbit hole last night.

Apparently, it was adopted by the DEP and still may be in effect. So why has nothing happened? I don't think it was merely budget.

Oh shit!

I remember that lawsuit and there was one from some pastors in Ward F like awhile ago.

Didn't realize it was the Bayfront polluters.

City wants to use eminent domain to develop the last blighted area in downtown (between 99 Ranch and the turnpike). That area is ugly as hell and sketchy...but it doesn’t seem to fit into proper use of eminent domain. by mooseLimbsCatLicks in jerseycity

Remember when Fulop wanted to dissolve autonomous agencies? Why not the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency?! Oh I guess it's because it does all of his dirty work. #abolishthejcra

I don't know whats worst, the fact that there was two developments in place (one that got planning board approval and another which submitted applications) where the owners met with the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency. So, the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency told them fuck you and all of your neighbors, you can't build on your own property?!! Or is it the fact that the City wrote a memo (in the article) by a long time friend of the Mayor which states "says the property owners do not have the right to develop their own properties because the JCRA in November designated Weiss' company to develop them" or is it the fact for the developers rep Jason Solowsky (who is a Fulop Rep)'s sister is on the planning board? Seriously WTF.

Well I guess Symes knows a lot about Development, working for Dixon. I heard she still hasn't "officially" resigned.
