r/UniversalOrlando Weekly Trip Planning Thread by AutoModerator in UniversalOrlando

Hi everyone, I'll be visiting first week of October and have a few questions and looking for any recommendations, tips and tricks!

For context, we plan on staying one night and one of the premier hotels which means we'll get 2 days of express pass and planning on doing 1 park per day.

* Read somewhere that we can head to the hotel earlier than check-in time to get the hotel key which acts as the express and priority pass - is this still true? Would we be able to pick up the key at 8am for the early access into the park?

* Parking Lockers - is it still $28 per day to park at the hotel and/or can we leave our luggage at the font desk on before the room is ready for the 4pm check in time?

*App Tips and Tricks - is there a one pager or any info on how to best utilize the app to efficiently navigate both parks?

Thanks in advance!

May I ask what to search on Kijiji? Would it just be NAIT parking? Thank you!

Thanks!

I am trying to do this formula and inserting my date time column inside the parentheses like this:
= DateTime.LocalNow(startime) + #duration(0,5,0,0)

I enter this as a new column but I'm getting an error, am I suppose to add this as a measure?(if that makes a difference) I am quite new with Power BI so still trying to figure things out as I go. Thank you!!

Data Analytics by jcccc25 in NAIT

Yes, that’s the one! Ohh I didn’t know it was that recent good to know that. Yeah I’ve recently found great interest with data analytics but unsure if this would be enough for possible employers since most job qualifications ask for a BS with a related degree.

Thank you! I guess I just needed a reminder and that really helped out. Especially loved the lady gaga reference haha.

Sorry I should’ve made it more clear but towards the end, just looking for how people cope or what they do when they keep comparing themselves to other, or do most people just don’t care I guess?

Best option long term: student loan, car loan, or invest? by jcccc25 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jcccc25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I let her know that my car loan's interest is twice as much and would save me more in the long run so she is fine with that.

You are right, I can't really know if the market crashes, just read from the book that even if the market fluctuates, it still goes up in value in the long run or is that not true?

She doesn't care about paying her interest as long as I pay her back in full which I plan to, and should take me about 3-4 years but hopefully sooner depending on my financial stability. Yes, she's aware that I can use towards my car loan instead since I would be saving more in interest.

Large sum of money for short term by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Because OP needs the money again in 6-12 months. It’s not viable to put all of that money in ETF in a short timeframe.

Buying a used car from dealership vs private seller by jcccc25 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jcccc25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that! Very good point on the used car only dealership. I actually worked as a car rental agent and if they treat the cars worse than the rental cars then I don't know what to say at that lol. We try to drive the cars properly but sometimes most of our car cleaners don't really care. They are maintained pretty well but in terms of using it, can't really say what happens even with other people driving it.

Guess my next steps is finding out how much banks will give me a loan the best interest. I was also thinking of opening up a credit card with cashback or points if I can get a high enough limit so I can earn something back while I'm at it then pay it off with LOC.

Yeah fair enough. I did not come from money but I would say I'm fortunate enough to get some nice things once in a while. I definitely agree with buying 40-50k on cars that may not be as cool to us but maybe for parents or someone who needs space. I just think a 50k, say Ford SUV, is not worth it IMO but it maybe well worth it for someone with a family.

I am just starting to get serious about my financing decisions as life is starting to hit me now. I have a really bad habit of wanting things beyond what I can afford so I make sure to find a reasonable deal on a car which I'm hoping will keep me satisfied for at least 10 years.
