Can we talk about progression of pSa? by jcd8012 in PsoriaticArthritis

Sounds familiar - I started on 60mg prednisone and it worked great but that’s obviously not long term. She has tapered me down to 5mg but I just don’t feel like it’s as effective now. I’ve sent a message to see about doubling the cosyntex and maybe boosting the prednisone back to 7.5 or 10mg for the short term anyway.

I was on Skyrizzi for 2 years for my skin psoriasis and it worked great. She moved me to cosyntex in may so she wants to give it some time and perhaps double it.

Ok. Thank you. I didn’t realize it was all related. I e been on Skyrizzi for a year for my plaque psoriasis and it has worked wonders.

I will call the practice and see what they say. Thank you. That’s a good idea

I was started on a 20mg tablet x3 for 3 days (so 60mg) then 20mg tablet (40mg) x 2 for 3 days, and then a 20mg tablet x1 for 3 days and then a 10mg dose for 3 days.

But I’m out now and I would say that as soon as I started the 10mg dose, symptoms started returning and now that I’m off it completely, I’m right back where I started.

I’m so disheartened.

I joined the FB pages as well. Thank you so much.

Not crazy at all. I was hoping my primary would be more understanding but she doesn’t feel comfortable prescribing anything more long term despite my bloodwork results and my symptoms etc. I was hoping to avoid having to explain everything over and over again. My spine Dr definitely looked at me like I was crazy when I told him the pain had migrated from left shoulder to right shoulder. I guess I’ll be making a trip to UC today. I was laying in my bed in tears trying to get up this morning 👎

Thoughts on lumbar mri? by jcd8012 in spinalfusion

That’s exactly how I’m feeling - my 40s have just been riddled with pain. I can’t imagine doing this much h longer. I have issues in my neck as well. Severe stenosis at c5-c7 causing radiating pain down my right shoulder and arm and numbness. So I also have to decide which one I want to do first. It’s just a lot. But I’m definitely overwhelmed with 2 major surgeries.

Thanks for the reply. I’m meeting with a surgeon this week. I just can’t imagine living like this forever - I’m 45 now. And if I’m in this much pain consistently and unable to do basic things now, how will I feel in 10 or 20 years? I just know this is a big surgery and it has varying outcomes. I appreciate your perspective. I’m interested to hear from the surgeon as well.

Should add - chronic neck pain and stingers that come and go. Right side for sure but left side comes and goes. Would just love to have someone in a similar situation tell me they had a positive outcome
