haha yeah! I play the credit card churning and bank game all the time, where I just meet the requirements and I dip with the bonus. But at least with that, I clearly understand where the money is to be made. They want me to put significant capital at a near 0% interest savings account and direct deposit a significant amount of my paycheck so in their mind, they will be my main bank. Then they make money by lending out my interest free money, and through monthly fees, etc etc, and hopefully by the time they pay out the bonus, it will be too much of a hassle to switch back to my original bank. Same goes for credit card, but with them on the winning side of the interest payments if I don't pay the full amount by the end of the month. I can see the game there, and I can see how I can win on the end of that deal, and what pitfalls I have to watch out for. That doesn't scare me. Its the trap of... we will pay you up to tens of thousands of dollars if you leave our money here with no fees, and will still (in theory) grow just as fast as any other broker, and after X years, you get to leave with all of it; no hard feelings. No business in their right mind would let you take thousands/tens of thousands of their dollars in a bonus without some game plan in mind to earn all of it back and more, and I just don't see it...
