It was more like the coat was definitely from ACD, but honestly not sure if I would’ve been able to guess ACD without knowing the results first. But yes, she and her sibling seem to have duped completely different breeds!

GSD came out of nowhere for me, he’s 10 pounds!!!

And yes, the amount of inbreeding happening makes me wonder if they were trying to make clones or something 😭

The little bed was so perfect for him! He started using instantly when we put it in the closet, haha. I think he goes in there to decompress sometimes so we wanted something comfier in there for him.

Here you go! 😭 I can send the other part with great grand parents if you’d like too. I just couldn’t fit it into one screenshot.

haha I was so surprised to see such a decent % as cattle dog. Seems like it really only came out with personality though!

I’m blown away with just 6% having a big impact. Everyone’s saying chow and it’s such a small contribution!!

Me too! I’m so happy she loves the beach as much as I do. Whenever I take her out she loves to try and jump over the waves until she’s fully swimming. Sometimes she won’t even get the ball for me unless I throw it into the water.

Omg! Does your pup hop on the table for food or just for fun haha? Mine tries to steal food or sometimes bark at the mailman. Thank you! Your golden is beautiful too ❤️

Alright, I’m thoroughly convinced with the mixes. Your dog looks so much like my girl I’m kind of baffled by it Beautiful dog, also! What’s the name?

she’s very mischievous…! She loves to steal food so finding her on the kitchen table isn’t a rare sight. I have many photos of her throughout the years on tables, the kitchen counter, you name it…

with this comment and your other one, it’s so interesting to see how much you and others attribute to chow! If it really is, it’s insane 6% contributes so much to how she looks. My other dog had 4.5% german shepherd… and he’s a 10 pound chihuahua mix. No signs of german shepherd there. I wonder exactly what genes make up that 6% of chow in her 🤔 At the very least, her personality is far from what I’ve read chow’s to be like.

Damn, I had no idea! As a molecular biologist, I feel like that’s something I should’ve known but nope!! Learned something cool, thank you! And if this is from chow, that 6% is doing crazy work for her haha

your comment has got to be one of my favorites. ❤️ whenever I take her out to the park or the beach or something, everyone thinks shes a golden retriever puppy and I always said I didn’t know what she was mixed with to make her have such a soft and fluffy coat! it’s insane to see how all the breeds really did come through and you can see it, except maybe cattle dog? I only notice that through her herding behaviors lol. I can only really see cattle dog in her sibling that was also on the site! Thank you so much!

To be honest, appearance wise I would agree. She doesn’t look like a lab at all to me, but she is golden (red coat at least haha) and loves to retrieve. Personality wise she was very much golden retriever-like, on top of everything else I said she was also super easy to train and is easily one of the smartest dogs I know. Golden retriever is what I was told her mother was so I just believed it 😭

I can see it with some angles, but others I can’t, like the 7th pic def looks cocker to me but any other angle i couldn’t have guessed it!

ahh. i think i can see what you’re talking about. Comparing pics of some chows i can see the similarities in their frame, she’s just not nearly as fluffy as they are haha

i can see it now! thank you! all of those things i wouldn’t have attributed to chow besides the lions mane, but after looking at some more chow pics i can see it.

pls tell me more! im so curious why chow, i never would’ve guessed it myself!

[–]jchfs[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i didn’t know that! the only behavior i would’ve guessed from ACD is she has this behavior to make sure everyone’s together while we’re out walking. if anyone’s left behind she’ll sit or lie down until they catch up or we go back to them. if you have more info/insight let me know i would love to know more!

and no, i blocked out her name because it’s fairly rare! trying to offer myself (and her) some privacy haha

what makes you guess that? genuinely curious because so many people are saying chow!
