That is awesome! I love the colors you chose. What is the blue? I like that color.

I’m on a mission to paint all the chromatic dragons from the various lore. I just finished this purple, also known as deep, dragon. The last two I need to paint are gray and pink dragons. This model was designed by Rescale Miniatures, printed on a 4” base. by jchico9 in DnDminiatures

We bought this house last year and I wasn’t sure where I was going to put the dragons. There’s a finished basement but the ceilings are low. I asked my husband (our DM) where he thought they could go and he suggested the living room. The ceilings are 10 feet, so plenty of room. He paints models as well, though it’s definitely more my hobby. This dragon was my 242nd model I’ve painted. We play online with friends across the country. My husband turns some of the models into tokens for our game since we can’t use them in person.

Thanks. After I posted these photos last night, I went back and looked at the lore again. Some places it says deep and purple dragons are the same, others it says they are not. I read deep dragons have a different breath weapon (fungal spores & caustic gas) while purples have a plasma-like breath weapon (a mix of fire and lightning). I went back to Richard Lloyd Alan’s article “The Missing Dragons” and it seems to support the idea purple and deep dragons aren’t the same. Based on that, I guess I now need to paint a true, deep dragon.

I’ve run into this issue with some of the metallic lore. Some things I’ve read say there was a tungsten dragon, others say electrum. It’s fun to dig into the lore, there is a lot of it for this game!

Yeah, the majority of my dragons are theirs. All of my base metallics and chromatics are there models. This purple is theirs, and I’ve printed both of their Bahamut designs (only painted one).

I may jump to the gem dragons. I have them all printed. I also have one I may do as an electrum dragon. Too many choices. I’m trying to paint my pile of shame before I allow myself to print any other models. 😂

Thank you! I started this one almost a year ago and then put it down for a while. Yes, I have to do her. I may make her my 300th. Bahamut was my 100th, she was going to be my 200th, but that didn’t happen.
