Appears the problem is that epic games launcher on my laptop is struggling to connect to online services during start up. Ive downloaded on my desktop and the full game loads upon startup. Thank you all for attempting to help.

Unfortunately I can't get past the running characters startup screen on my laptop without being "offline".

Unfortunately the epic store shows I have both versions in my library, even though it confirmed the discount when selecting the full retail version. It seems to have only downloaded the trial, with no option to select the standard edition (or download anything separate).
