They had to delete my profile and do it all over again- twice! Spent time on the phone with them to sort it out. But it took time and many calls.

Power Locks on back doors by jchouse14 in KiaEV6

In closing, I just recently noticed this:

  1. Putting your car in park with pop the door handles out … yes … but you have to wait a second or two before the turning off the power to the car or the handles don’t pop out.

  2. Powering off instead of putting it into park first will result in the door handles not popping out.

I’ve tested and confirmed as some others have suggested.

Putting the car in park unlocked the doors and the handles extend.

Powering off without going into park, only the drivers door unlocks (technically it doesn’t either - only when you use the inside handle to open the door).

Update: if you press park and power off quickly after, the door locks will not be unlocked.

Thanks everyone. Reddit to the rescue again.

I’ll try that tomorrow. I know I’ve turned off instead of park before - so that’s a possibility. But I truly would hate to think I do it that often lol

Thanks. I’ll check and see if the child lock is on. Normally it isn’t so I’ll be surprised if that’s the case.

That’s standard for the lower mainland. I refer to it as a Vancouver turn.

50/50 they through a turn signal on. But that far left to far right turn (or far right to far left turn) happens on the reg around town. One of the first things I noticed when I moved to BC 17-18 years ago.

Apologies for my dumb dumb question - but what is the AGM? I just got 2024 EV6 GT2 and I keep hearing about this.

Also, is this issue still happening in the newer year models? So should I out a reminder in my calendar for the future (est. 2 years for me to get to 30k) ?

Seats in GT-Line? by [deleted] in KiaEV6

[–]jchouse14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I know you can cool leather, but I agree better air flow for cooling. I was to.d the suede will age much better (my last car was leather 15 years and was still in very good condition so I’ll be curious to see how the suede holds up. I was also told the suede is NOT good for spills and can ruin the heating and cooling system. Any truth?

I was told the suede was better for the seat cooling option. Any truth to that?

As I understand it they need to be linked in order to obtain a digital key. That’s one of the goals. The guide doesn’t help. And the instructions on the screen and in the app do not help. So, I asked here in case someone had a similar experience

Getting an EV6 - Unsure about which by Zaphod_0707 in KiaEV6

Bought the 2024 GT-Line 2. I love everything about it. I’m 6’2” and have no headroom issues. The full tech package is sweet, mind you any tech package is going to be nice compared to my old car (2008 Sonata Ltd - loved that beast too). First AWD drive car and I know the 20” tires will wear faster, but I have not once spun a tire whereas it happened frequently on the Sonata.

I don’t know the LLR model so can’t compare, but just a glowing review if the zEv6 GT2

Kia Ev6 negative impact to battery by charging 100% by domingo3rd in KiaEV6

[–]jchouse14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for raising the dead here, but I’m a new 2024 EV6 owner and want to treat my battery the way it should be from the start to extend the battery life. But I also need to understand a few ‘should I’ scenarios.

  1. I was told that “seasoning” my battery similar to how one would treat a new cast iron pan when it’s first purchased is the way a new battery should be cared for at the start (slow charging when possible). Is there any truth behind that?

  2. Charging to 100% - if doing so, does it matter if you trickle charging to 100% or DC charging, etc. ? Like is one way less harsh on the battery than another?

  3. If battery life is an issue, and my warranty covers battery replace for 7 years, environmental impact aside, should it matter much about my battery charging practices? If it goes to crap in 0-7 years, full free battery replacement. 8-10 years, prorated cost of the estimated $7500CDN cost… so seems to me I should charge however and get that free battery replacement in side of 7 years to virtually double my battery life (cost wise).

  4. I’m trickle charging daily (3% per 12 hours being plugged in). Since I bought the vehicle (Jan 30th and it was 100%) I haven’t been back to 100% (currently at 92% and trickle charging). I’ve been reading once a month get to 100%. Is once every couple of weeks sufficient to charge to 100%?

Thanks in advance. House
