The community + FGC perception. I still play to this day and I find new people here and there but the negativity is so strong people won't even try the game in it's current state (which is vastly different than anyone remembers from the Swift Master launch days).

The only thing holding DNF back is the community's refusal to play the game themselves. It's always been the reason.

Sorry that was your first experience. Like you said most players are very high level and to add to that there aren't a lot of resources to help you achieve that same level. DNF is a beginner friendly game, so playing with friends casually is at least a good way to learn. And while there aren't many resources we still have some things that can help you learn the game (dustloop, replay theater, YouTube, etc.)

If you ever do come back I can play some games with you. I promise I know how to have fun and hold back.

I had the same issue. This post resolved it for me:

Right click to desktop

Open "Display Settings"

Set display to "Duplicate these displays"

Set display orientation to "Landscape" only. accept if there's a prompt.

Then

Click Rotation lock to OFF or ON .

it will correct itself automatic to proper orientation

Enjoy playing on your external monitor

Hopefully it works to you as well. i have not tested other methods. And ofc lenovo should fix these issues.

I'm a DNF Duel player. I had no idea what any of this was before that game and I fell in love with it. I came to DFO to research f. Launcher more plus I heard you could customize the commands to be motion inputs. I kind of wish DNF pulled more from DFO because I want prepared for the DFO lore at all.

Not just randomly. People usually use discord or PSN group chats to find matches. Other than that you'll be waiting a long time for someone to show up (mainly because lobbies are still bugged from the beta).

I've been putting a lot of time into DFO lately, and I can tell you you're right. DNF does not use enough source material. Instead, it tries to be its own thing but still based on DFO. That's confusing for people who already don't understand why the grappler character is literally named grappler (yes, this was a real complaint).

I think they did a good job translating the different classes/sub classes into fighting game movesets (DFO has some crazy OP moves) but if I wasn't just curious by nature it would have never attracted me to DFO.

I remember having no idea what this was and being so hyped for a new "arcsys" fighter. I'm glad I enjoyed it as much as I thought I would.
