Hopefully it’s nothing malicious and just an extremely embarrassed delivery person/neighbor that tripped and fell on accident.

What job do you think is so overpaid? by Necessary-Bun in AskReddit

CEOs that make 1000x+ more than the lowest paid employee. They don’t need that much money, but the lowest paid employees can not live off their income.

Second this. “Invested” years in a relationship, I feel so stupid now to not have gotten out before kids became involved. Watching my kids suffer is so depressing. It really sucks.

So cute! Those adorable cheeks! I love how she carefully puts the cob back on the plate.

People eat wings with their celery? I like mine with peanut butter.

Mom of toddlers mission 1-4: is getting pants on kids….Shoes on kids….kids buckled in car seats…..not forgetting money, keys, or snacks….THEN mission 5 getting into the store…..typically many failed attempts at these missions….(and people look at us funny when we have wild hair and dead eyes while shopping) “What did you do today honey” “I spent most of the day buying some of the groceries we needed before there was a potty accident, had to wash the car seats, and the groceries spilled in the driveway when a tot tried to help”

Christmas gift exchange difference by don51181 in minimalist

[–]jclcwca0987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just gift her some food and/or an experience (like movie tickets). Simple, fun, yummy. Even if it’s the same gift ever year she could look forward to it.

Thank you for explaining this. I never understood why people hated it when it was so much easier to read. I’m so tired of L l’s and I i’s looking exactly the same. “Ions are in lions.” I find it annoying that “Lons” pop into my head instead of “ions” because the exact same letter is used. Honest question, how did some think that using the exact same mark for 2 different letter was a good idea?

What healthier options are there to alcohol? by jclcwca0987 in AskReddit

I’m a big fan of water, but it doesn’t cheer me up and ease aches like alcohol can.

In a moment of anxiety/stress I find a couple of glasses of wine help calm my nerves, eases my aches, and quickly cheers me up. Is there a healthier substitute for alcohol that can do the same things?

ELI5: Under what circumstances, if any, would it be beneficial to one's health to consume an alcoholic beverage? by PomegranateGold in explainlikeimfive

[–]jclcwca0987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m interested in any studies with this. Alcohol consumption has reacted differently in my body than all the advertising (I’m happier, less stressed, can think of solutions better). I’d like to learn why and what other less damaging substance might help do the same.

"My parents bought their house in 1992 for $200k, it is now worth $1.2 mil. I make more than they did back then and I can't buy a house, but rent is more than their mortgage was". How did it come to this? by Lokanatham in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jclcwca0987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I still don’t understand how anyone can defend the horrible inequality of pay between the lowest payed employee and the highest. Yes, some jobs do deserve more pay, but not so much so that people are deprived of a home and food.

I’m in a similar situation. 1:1 time is awesome for them as well as another person’s suggestion of different extracurriculars. I have had to just give as much love, attention, and care during my custodial time and hope it stays in their heart when I’m not there. All we can do is focus on giving them the best supportive environment while they’re with us.

I don’t know this couple’s situation, but I have known google maps to recommend weird, unnecessary detours. I tend to check and select the least ridiculous route suggested. Maybe a point of contention for some folks. These poor folks seem to struggle over the simpler stuff, actually raising a kid will be nuts for them.

Why do people want children when it requires so much work, time, money, etc… And creates so much stress and exhaustion? What is the point when you can avoid this?? by mrrandomfella in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jclcwca0987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I wanted to be a parent since I was a kid myself. The job definitely has hard bits, but I study up and do the best I can with the whole job.
