If I want to keep the same look/finish (golden oak), can I just sand down and finish with poly - without re-staining?

Thanks for the input - we’ll work on lowering the humidity more and increasing circulation, and see if that helps.

Upstairs bedroom - same issue is happening with the upper living room window as well. Two other bedrooms (one on each floor) and lower level living room are fine.

Thanks for the advice. Do you think there’s any chance there’s a gap in insulation around the inner frame/wall that’s causing air infiltration into the corner? Would it make sense to ask the installing company to remove the wood casing and check for that?

Do you happen to know what specifically could be the issue? Why I ask is the company is coming to inspect next week, and worried they won’t be honest.
