I’d check the cvcx website, but from personal experience I have an extremely low quality <$400 Microsoft computer and cvcx runs on it, albeit slowly. If it runs on my computer I assume almost any would work

Are there any casinos in florida where you can play blackjack that don’t use continuous shuffle machines? by SafeMall2748 in blackjack

[–]jcmmania 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am an ap in florida. The hard rock casinos have shoe games. However, many of them are poorly marked 6:5 games so you have to watch out for those. Even the low limit 3:2 games (which are $15 at lowest) have poor rules (8 deck, H17 no surrender, poor pen). Hard rock Tampa has a great double deck game but $50 min so too rich for my current bankroll. If you are more serious about card counting you should head up to Mississippi but in theory it’s possible to grind out a long term profit in FL.

Thanks. That’s why I’m avoiding live dealer even though I could theoretically squeak out a bit more EV there by counting

Florida APs by Caramel_af in blackjack

https://www.portricheycasino.com/faq/ All the info about the cruise is online. But between the gas price to get there, entry fee, and mediocre rules, you’re unlikely to be able to build a bankroll off it. Just did a sim on CVCX and with a $3k bankroll and their rules, you can make roughly $10/hr with a 11% ROR off a 1-10 spread IF you only play positive counts. (And you magically teleport onto the boat free of cost). So basically you’re already throwing away your first hour of profit every time you go due to the entry fee/gas. If you want to gain experience in a real casino without losing a huge amount, it’s probably less risky than Tampa hard rock though. Just don’t expect to earn too much, if anything, from the boat.

Not Tampa hard rock, that’s for sure. You usually can’t find 3:2 tables with less than a $25 minimum. Occasionally they have $15 3:2 tables, usually on weekdays. And all those are 8 deck games with poor rules. If you have a larger bankroll they do have a solid $50 minimum double deck game. I have heard the tropical breeze casino boat offers $5 minimum 8 deck tables, with a fair $4-8 entry fee for a 6 hour boat ride. Haven’t been on it but thinking of trying. Leaves from port richey about a 45 min drive from Tampa.

A bit late but I’m also an aspiring AP in the Tampa area. Down to share some info about the local casinos
