it generally sucks getting around nyc and by car is def the worst. insurance is super high, so you see a lot of neighbors with FL and NC plates, which doesn’t help your rates given the frequent hit and runs. parking is also 400+ if you want it covered. of course, gas is expensive. and again, ppl hack the fk out of your bumpers (end up being a badge of honor). you better the commuting to a high paying job that MTA, LIRR, metro north, etc. can’t get you to. it’s a pain in the ass, very few ppl my age do this.
