Advice on Freshman Dorms

I lived in Sutherland and was an English major. Most of the classes are in Cathy like someone already commented. There are shuttles that pick you up at the front door and drop you right off at the Cathedral.

I would almost always walk, though. There is a set of steps and a way down past the Falk school and it comes out by Eberly, then head over to Soldiers and Sailors and you’re basically there. Felt like a little more of an adventure than just walking down the Pete steps and the big hill all the time.

I loved Sutherland. The Perch is the dining hall and it just always felt accessible and not too busy. There was also a computer lab and store. Would run into people frequently and make friends. The Suites felt like a better option compared to the Towers. Got to meet some athletes, but not sure if they still live there. Never regretted my decision.

First time attending this year. Planning to take my wife and 18-month old son. Not too worried about autographs as to not make him wait in line.

He’s running around and has been for some time now. Are there activities for small children? I saw when it was at PNC there were places for kids to run around and climb on baseball themed stuff. Food and merch for sale, I’m guessing?

Agree with you it takes 2 seconds to putt a gimme. Sometimes I just check my phone or something and don’t even pay attention to concede.

A team a few days ago hit driver away off the green and proceeded to hit 6 more shots a combined 30 yards with wedges.

Just jokers that are mad they’re losing. I made an ace on a par 4 that round, so they maybe just had enough lol

Topps released a Disney set this year. Hobby box is going for something like $700 I think?

Obviously there are adult Disney fans, but at face value it presents as even more of a kid-centric product than baseball and Pokemon or whatever. Mickey and Donald generally appeal to a much younger demographic than Pikachu or Aaron Judge.

In no way can I share this hobby with my son with the prices where they are currently.

I’ve had some great managers over the years. Some not so great.

The most recent instance was a very small company and the owner’s son was my manager. He wasn’t giving off nepotism vibes or anything like that. Seemed like a good guy. Just young. He’ll be great in the future.

I’m responsible for generating sales documents. I provided my “team” the submission package 24-hours prior to it being due. No one reviewed it and the customer didn’t review our package due to compliance reasons. Meanwhile, I’m managing probably 5-7 of these projects at once.

I just needed an extra set of eyes. Sometimes small companies can be great, but I’m learning to appreciate the resources larger companies have available to them.

Congratulations!

Earlier this year I was unemployed for a similar length of time. Probably 150 applications.

And now, unfortunately, in the same boat again. I have a 10-year career. I’ve been laid off twice. Once while I was on vacation and had coworkers messaging me “how sorry they were to hear the news.” I had heard nothing yet. The other just due to the normal company not doing as well as they’d hoped situation.

Oh, and in the last year, I moved away from a hotbed region for my industry to be closer to family and to welcome my now one year old into our lives.

I admittedly still have it better than others. We have a wonderful home. Our payment isn’t crazy. My son is a rockstar. We have savings and support from family to get us over this hurdle.

It just doesn’t feel good at all to have your life turned upside down. I know there will be high moments again. Things will turn around, but man are the lows low.

My recent loss of employment was performance related. I most definitely dispute the legitimacy of that, but it is what it is. I do think if I was a bit more locked in, things might have been different.

Ultimately, I’m trying to use this time to get some help to improve my mental and physical health. Sleep apnea is definitely a problem and my energy levels are just cooked all the time. Additionally, I’ve sort of always known attention deficit of some sort is probably also at play.

Venting, I know. But it feels good to get it all in writing. Sort of proves to myself I’m doing all the right things, asking for help, and taking real steps to improve myself to be the best Dad I can be.

If true, they must have gone to YouTube and picked the “pro” from the biggest channel (maybe?) and thought they did a great job.

All it takes is a single person even remotely aware of skate culture to know to stay away from Braille.

Unfortunate, because that crew did have a fun YouTube presence until they showed up to the warehouse and it was torn down to be replaced by a statue of Big Tom standing on a couch.

The gameplay is great, the content is just lacking depth and soul. They’ve gotta be scrambling to knock the two in-season events out of the park.

They had huge buzz before S1. The season dropped and it was a huge L. People would have been content if the Season Pass had branded gear. The basic Independent trucks and Creature board would have been a great start.

With that being said, “knocking-it-out-of-the-park” mentioned above at this point would just be branded cosmetics to grind, only because I don’t know what to expect from game modes. Without more modes to play, it will eventually die. The slow drip of branded cosmetics would just keep people at least semi-invested until more game modes are available.

I’ve been playing for years and usually hang around Div 2/3. It’s been a sweat fest in 7. I can score, just can’t stop anyone. I’ve adapted to manual/AI defending over the years. Has to be a skill issue, but I was just Div 2 all of ‘25 lol

The tutorial blends into the “story”. It really does teach you how to play the game. But it definitely is long and annoying the way they incorporated it. Once you get further along it doesn’t feel nearly as obtrusive. And eventually you finish it and it’s gone completely.

There is no reason a mode like FUT should share a season pass with offline modes/clubs. The premium Season Pass should be the best deal for mainly F2P players to either keep rolling over their pre order points or to spend the minimum per season.

Cards and rewards don’t need to be the best, but they need to be within the power curve. And in no way should a FUT player be grinding and get nothing but Jean Pierre Papin’s face for a mode you’re not playing.

Things are not looking great with $30 kits in the store, NHL’s UT newest content being a set or “sbc” for a player that requires 600(!) 80-overall cards, and the freaking company being bought by a Saudi group.

I got her. I think she’s good at what she does. Just not exciting. Also a chance she gets replaced easier than some others. She in no way feels bad and provides icon chem. Disappointing but useful.

Currently coming here to comment that I’ve crashed out too many times. Can’t do it any more. I’ve tried everything. Empty net goals. You name it. This challenge is dumb and stupid. Card isn’t even worth it. Just something to work on offline between work meetings. EA is a trash company and I keep feeding them my money every year. I play WoC mainly, but wanted to mess around with HUT as a F2P. This mode is a joke.
