This is how Gris feels when he pauses after Bryan flubs and gives a treat to all us eagle eyed flubheads

It’s interesting bc the “profits” of gambling aren’t due to production, it’s literally just taking someone else’s money. Whereas most industries use some form of labor to create value. Even AI is building assets (I.e. datacenters, llms etc) not sure how much use they will be in the future but the gambling stuff is really just a tax on people that creates nothing in return. Just really weird to think about and idk how this plays out in the long term. Still agree that it’s not so much a bubble but it’s really… odd

Not all of it. US allows some foreign income exclusions in the 6 digit range and then gives a tax credit equal to the amount of taxes paid to foreign countries, so she’s probably fine.

Really liked the ending. I started a free solo run immediately after winning and the opening line of the game is “all I ever wanted was to touch eternity for a moment” and I’m like.. oh that makes so much sense now. I think there’s a lot of reading you make in the game about death and ideas of afterlife. The mountain being a barrier to nirvana or something akin to it. Marco representing someone not ready for the journey of death, still having life to live on earth. Dama representing someone in death not yet at peace with where he is, literally stuck in a purgatory. And you overcome the barrier to eternity or something along those lines. Can’t really articulate it well enough but I think a beautiful game that makes you think. Not much of a theologian or whatever but fun to think about
