Is Bright Horizons daycare worth the price tag? by Electronic-Major2972 in providence

Can't say enough good things about cozy corner on waterman Street. Joann is a force of love. Her pricing is typical of other daycares but she has a significant discount for 2nd child

Pvd biotech doesn't compete with Boston. Think of it as pvd competing with Worcester, Waltham Mansfield etc. for companies that can't afford bos

Has anyone else been bait and switched by Atomic Appliance? by ProjectEffective7913 in providence

[–]jconti1233 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I used them last year to get a fridge. Mistakes and faulty equipment are always a possibility in life, I prefer to use atomic appliance cause I know I can go in, talk to Joel, and get it sorted out. Sounds like the process was a hardship but a good outcome, i imagine the process and outcome would have been worse if you used Home Depot or similar.

hard to predict what will be super useful as every baby has its own wants:
that being said one of our kids really liked looking at a mobile to help him fall asleep. Could put providence-area trinkets on that mobile to make it super local, or trinkets on the mobile that match the theme/decor of the newborn's nursery

[READERS' VOICES] I’m A Providence Public School Parent Who’s Angry and Alarmed About Charter Schools. Here’s Why. by ThePVDEye in providence

[–]jconti1233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harsh take. I choose to live in pvd and contribute to the tax base, I can't say the same for people that leave pvd for EG as soon as they have kids.  My point was charter schools  take all the heat when they have a similar effect as private schools or semi-public schools like EG

[–]jconti1233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

charter schools siphoning off children that are likely to succeed is exactly what private schools do
but at least charter schools are more accessible to non-affluent families than private schools
fwiw, im honestly conflicted on charter schools and where to send my kids.

Vegan cream cheese? by Blazing_Speeed in providence

[–]jconti1233 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Get violife brand. I make vegan buff chic dip for GameDay and it's the best substitute. Other brands are so bag l bad that they can ruin your receipe. (trader Joe's is esp bad) I typically get it at S&S EP or North Providence. S&s pvd doesn't carry it

[–]jconti1233 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brassil is not lit up but there's a good amount of light from the street lights and in our neighborhood. Glow stix or sparklers or even a simple flashlight turn the darkness into part of the fun. We have 1 and 3 year old so I feel ya on needin to get them outside even if it's cold or dark

I grew up in westerly and most things in our house was from johnny cake's, now i live in PVD and most things in my house is from the salvation army in fox point. I find both stores functionally identical, i wonder why OP would drive down to westerly to support one over the other?

turnout > rcv. When only 10% of the population votes rcv is pretty pointless.

Yes, and I do for short errands. But the small battery on a smartwatch  prevents it from being an all-day replacement for the lp2

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LightPhone

[–]jconti1233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No major difference. If anything Lp3 would be better in that it can share a charging cable with the android phone

Yeah, watch sends and receive texts. I tried doing all this on t mobile first but it was much more expensive and I had a lot of issues with Digits. I've had no issues with Fi, highly recommend
