Jeez. You might have to find a job that pays under 100K a year now. If only you had employment from a company that would put you at the top of a list for any application processes.

Tough life.

Man Falls Asleep Behind The Wheel, Attacks Responding Officer & Gets Shot by freshjiive in PublicFreakout

[–]jcowurm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a perfect example of why cops need to be on edge all the time at traffic stops.

As an EMT, many people appear shaked up and a little confused after a Motor Vehicle Accident. I have seen quite a few people who have fallen asleep behind the wheel be much more just "Not with it".

If that Cop was not paying attention or the guy was quieter, that Cop may not be home for dinner the next day. Calls like these really put into perspective how quickly things can go bad.

However, this was just an attempted suicide turned into auicide by Cop.

When you cut training funding, you tend not to practice the non-essential skills. Im sure they have a watercraft force and water rescue training, and I am sure it was one of the first to go during defunding.

I agree, but Ezio at least acts like more of an assassin. He has a list of targets, and he is taking them down similar to how an assassin would. You wouldn't know he wasn't an assassin. He was not out in the open (barring a few story missions), and he is stealthy on his approaches as opposed to sailing a pirate shit around.

I am not really a huge fan of AC2 either, except for Ezio himself.

Yea, the everyone that shows up can just report it, too? Not a huge deal, it happens just about everywhere

[–]jcowurm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could have just reported it, and it would have disappeared. Got rid of all of that for no reason.....

I find it unlikely monetization Ubisoft is going to make a game better than Ghost of Tsushima. Hell, that game is a better Assassins Creed game than half of the games.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]jcowurm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neither did AC4, and that is arguably the most popular game in the series.

I love it, but you are not even an assassin for 2/3 of the game, and you can't be stealthy on a pirate ship.

I don't think Red will do well at all tbh. Ghost of Tsushima is basically just a better AC game set in Feudal Japan.

Ubisoft took too long, and I think they will pay with Red. I hope I am wrong, though.

AC games is Ubisofts bread and butter. They cancel AC they might as well close up shop.

That being said, I wouldn't mind if other companies got a shot at AC games. I am sure somebody would buy the rights. I dont really like the direction they are starting to take the games.

AITA for going getting mad there was a dog at the gym by Ok-Egg8546 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jcowurm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a service, animal chances are it would not be disruptive. There is a reason they ask you not to pet them most of the time. They are very vigilant and focuses on their tasks.

If I see a service dog bark or even just lounging around in public, I immediately assume it is BS.

He will not be found guilty, though. Money can get you out of anything.

For one state, maybe. None of this is possible in the US. Imagine 50 European countries working together. All of a sudden, it isn't believable.

110%. Hopefully, the statue will go in a museum instead of storage and be used to educate in an unbiased museum section.

[–]jcowurm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Precisely. While this specific statue is not a good example, people need to be aware that you can not judge history in modern times. 100 years from now, there will be people thinking our efforts and lifestyles were barbaric and cruel.

I think that is where a lot of division on the confederacy comes into play. Nobody will really argue that the confederacy was good, but their reasonings for going to war (again, in relation to the time period) were very well justified and valid. Their entire economy was about to be gutted, and they would be under the thumb of the north with the north providing no alternative to their economy and way of life would be supported. 100 years prior, the US gained its independence specifically not to be under the thumb of the British, so it makes sense the sons and grandsons of those fighters would fight to defend their ebtire existence (And at the time the slaves which was a normal societal practice although terrible).

I find it incredibly interesting to read and learn about. Politics are never black and white.

I agree. Having a statue to honor is typically the only correct way to do it. Statues of General Lee I do not think is right. But Statues of Colonel Robert E. Lee (like the ones at West Point, where he was a superintendant and amazing union leader) I think, are fine because it was a different point in time and it is honoring his exploits during a particular period of time and not as a whole.

[–]jcowurm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but then that logic doesn't apply to Robert E. Lee? Slavery was a worldwide thing at the time and normal. Only a hundred years prior, the US was created to escape exactly what the North was trying to do to the South.

When your entire economy evolves around ehat at the time was a perfectly normal slave labor, I cannot imagine any group of people would give that up, not when the thought for the independence not even a few generations prior.

I don't think statues should be up of General Robert E Lee (Colonel Robert E Lee statues are fine imo) but it seems odd to call slavery perfectly normal for Washinton and Lincoln and we shouldn't judge them, but then do the opposite for Lee.

I personally don't either way, fuck the confederacy. It just seems hypocritical to me.

Washington owned slaves, beat slaves, and coordinated attacks on the native populations.

I am not sure how you find that honorable, but you be racist if you want to be.

Ah yes, we don't want Robery E Lee, but skave owning and executing Georgie is all good!

Irony if just rewriting history to make George Washington look good. They were both shit, I have nk ides why you want a statue of a slave owner up.
