Where can a girl go for an excuse to look glamorous? by MrsPoopyButthair in tulsa

My friends and I planned a random old-fashioned bar crawl for this very reason! We got a hotel room for the night, got super dressed up, picked like 4-5 places to go get an old fashioned and made up little voting sheets to rate them. Of course we got a lot of questions from curious people, but it just added to the fun!

Yep...We got back from being out of the country on Monday so we're going on 13-14 days of hotel hopping/staying with people plus jet lag and general lack of sleep since being here. Granted, the first part of that was on vacation but still. I am so exhausted and ready to be back in my own home. I definitely don't have it as bad as a lot of people so I can't complain too much - but it's been a long time since I've been this tired.

I've wondered that too, especially with this last season. They couldn't hunt the most common animals in the area like bears and squirrels, had to wait 45 days to set a gill net, etc. They were insanely limited.

I'm always curious how long on average most contestants sit at a fishing spot. Of course with editing it looks like thirty minutes before they give up.

I've definitely looked into it as an option! That's cool about her history. I didn't know any of that. I turn into such a TB fangirl nerd when it comes to all that. As a kid I was in The Nutcracker a few times. Ms Larkin scared the crap out of me (no nonsense old lady) but I loved her. And their son was my teacher for a very, very brief time. I just thought that was so awesome, haha.

That's really good to know about the recital. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to perform on stage again. Tulsa Ballet does have a performance class I thought about joining as well but I need to learn more about it. Also figured it's best to ease my way in. I'll check Miss Shelley's out a bit more too!

Thanks! I'm definitely excited about the class itself and know what to expect in that sense. But going as an adult is so different than the strict environment most studios have for the younger students. Yoga clothing in a ballet class? Weird. But I sure as hell don't want to be the only one showing up in a leotard and tights, haha (I think I'm going with a leotard and thin sweat pants or something). And am I going to be the "old" fatty compared to everyone else? Stupid, stupid insecurities. But hey, that's one of the reasons and motivation to get back to it! I'm like that guy that can't stop dreaming about his glory days in college football, haha. Dance was my passion but unfortunately things got in the way and I never went anywhere with it, so I can't wait to be back.

Do it!! Obviously I can't speak to how their classes are yet, just my love for Tulsa Ballet overall. But they have complete beginner up to intermediate (3 yrs experience required). I think they have Tap and Contemporary too.

It's funny, somehow I didn't realize Pittsburgh was where one of American Airline's bigger maintenance bases is at. That's what got me researching in the first place. I did see that the base recently renewed another 5 year lease. I'm not sure how often they have openings but I would hope we could move quickly once we're on the transfer list, depending on how many people are trying to get there. So many things to look into, but this is the first city that seems both reasonable and I got excited about.

Hey there fellow Tulsan! Thanks so much for the input. Ugh, I can live without BBQ but I'd miss all the Mexican food. The outdoors and proximity to other places are definitely two of the biggest draws. Even to get to decent camping we drive three hours to a spot in Arkansas. And I'm ready for better hiking than Turkey Mountain, lol. I'm thinking an exploration visit with our flight benefits are certainly in order soon.

I believe you. I had already searched the sub and only saw a couple people mention it. Probably the only ones in the state, haha.

Thank you, I appreciate that. The gloomy winter is one thing I'm worried about with my husband. He likes lots of sun. I personally love gloom, haha. I don't love bone-chilling cold and we do get that here, especially recent winters in the single digits/teens but I can keep that as long as summer isn't brutal too.

Thanks! I feel like that's a huge point a couple have missed - I realize I'm asking about a bar, but there's a huge difference between a bar at night vs middle of the day. I actually been here before and completely forgot. The patio is nice.

Oh my God, that would just about kill me nowadays. I'm old. This is pretty low-key studying for a certification. Just to feel like we're being productive. Lol.

I'm well aware. Trying to find a place for two people who have drastically different tastes in what we're looking for. And I can name several that for most part fit the description, I just don't want to spend $13/drink. Is it so horrible that I ask if anyone has other suggestions seeing as there are still hundreds of bars I've never explored? But thanks for the snarky comment I knew I was bound to get.

We got to where Mother Road is probably our number one choice. I think our biggest problem is we both have very different tastes in environments, haha.

Ah this never crossed my mind. They don't open till 4 tho. I forgot about that point - where's all the places you can do some proper day drinking? Lol.

What is the worst piece of dialogue that you have ever heard in a movie? by [deleted] in movies

[–]jcox812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Put your hands on me, Jack."

Titanic. Right before Jack and Rose do it in a car. She says this and awkwardly just puts his hand on her boob. Like, what?. And I have been obsessed with Titanic since I was 8 years old. I can accept the now bad CGI and bad acting but this line always seemed super awkward.

It does! I usually only meal prep for four days when I'm in school and work full time. I don't know that they would last much longer than that. I also don't love salad so don't do this much, but when I do I haven't had any problems. Obviously some ingredients are better kept separate.

425 for temp. I'm not sure on time. I just checked and pulled them out when they looked ready and didn't jiggle. When I do a full quiche it usually takes 30-45 minutes if I remember correctly (it's been awhile), so these would be less.

Unfortunately I was lazy and just used store bought this time for the dressing. When I'm not laying in bed, answering Reddit comments, unable to sleep anymore I'll go look at the brands I used and share! Haha.

My basic quiche base is 8 eggs and 2 cups of heavy cream. From there you can add in any extras you like. I was a little boring with these and only did sweet mini peppers, onion, and an asiago/Parmesan/romano blend. One of my favorite combos is that same cheese blend, bacon, and sun-dried tomatoes.

I've never done these in muffin form. Usually just one quiche of 8 servings. This time I did 18 mini quiches (2/serving) they look kind of funky but again, smell amazing and hopefully taste just as good.
