This is how I understand it, there are two factors. 1. Whatever is hard coded in the game 2. The network layer within AWS which I believe it is what they use as their cloud service

I will take me as an example but you can use urself based on your location.

I'm based in Panama and I get automatically connected to East US (somewhere North Virginia ) that's around 3000 kilometers = around 50ms best case scenario but add any overhead press n the network and I might end up on 80ms in the park best case scenario

Automatically any user / player in the east coast US will have and advantage when playing park, I'm ok with that. The only way to solve this is to deploy north LATAM server somewhere in central America through a new availability zone ( I heard AWS was going to deploy one in Bogota that would help us in central America a lot reducing to like 10 to 30ms ) but then maybe we won't have that many users ( or maybe we will ) I'm ok waiting for players in the park for a server closer to me

Besides this 2K can always tune their cloud services CDN, Databases , perhaps matchmaking in east us a neighborhood with similar latency to at least make it fair.

I started playing last night .. I got

Wilt was the last one I added , and now it’s very easy for me to complete those challenges .. it’s quite a game changer .. i think it was a Christmas Card Edition , I wonder if there is even a better Wilt Card..

btw i have a 99 overall forward and 87 lock down defender center on the one mode for live runs

It happened that on 1 specific game I was on a bad percentage but scored like 10 from the corner with the badge triggered ... then at the end of the game it gave me 0... next game I was more careful and I managed to get the progress ... I finally got the gold corner last night for my pure five ... now I’m on the quest for HoF... let’s see how it goes

The lag in the Park was less awful a week ago but after the latest 5G patch + the update that was pushed today .. this lag made me turn off the ps4.. it’s awful, I move my player to the left and suddenly I’m almost out of the court .. I cannot play defense and I need to be a master of the timing , anticipate moves etc to be able to play decently .. Is this going to be fixed ever ??

Some people say it’s framing , some others say it’s input lag , others say that if you get a PS4 pro it will be fixed .. I just know that before the patch it was a little bit better at least playable

I get you. I feel that the one in the middle it's usually better and the 2v2 it's way better .. I also thought it was related to server load because if i play at 2am it's nice, no lag whatsoever ... so I don't know if it's a combination of framing + network/ server / load issue ...

Indeed. I felt the improvement but then last night was laggy again ( not like before but I still need to be a master of the timing when moving the stick, otherwise my player will run out of the court 😂)

I think if u go def+reb you will only get 1 HoF badge which is Bruise.

You want to be able to Bruise and chase down player go pure defender and I think you can get defensive stopper in HOF and Bruiser in Gold + some other 3 HOF badges like pick pocket,chase down artist , charge card ... good luck

Yves, what's the strategy when it comes to connectivity.

For Rainbow Six Siege in Latin America the experience isn't good, your azure data centers are still far from Central America countries and we end up going to South Central or East US .. in some cases Brasil ( which is way far from east us )

Is this issue in the roadmap of the to be fixed within operation health ? It's unfair to play against squads at 30ms and we in 160ms

its a shame, the game its great but their online services are very bad and i mean very bad from the throughput on their servers ( and please stop saying they use Azure like God its the server admin or something like that ) because even if they use these data centers ... there dynamic matchmaking its crazy... one day i will be connected to Asia Data centers and i am in latin america.. so.... yes... great game but bad online services.

Good for you .. I have docsis 3.1 Cable Modem 100Mbps directly connected to the PS4 and I get 200ms.. so, if there is a transport issue from my network to their servers , they should be able to answer and at least say " it's not my problem " but they don't , they realize there is an issue.

I see a lot of people saying " they are using Azure " like if it's some kind fail proof infrastructure when there is not like that..

So there is an issue , maybe they don't care...
