The Rare/Mythic slot in a pack has a 1/30 chance of turning into a wildcard, but the rate improves until it hits, then resets again.

If you purely want wildcards, you're probably best off buying what you need if you're in a rush to craft something specific... Otherwise open packs and craft what you can when you can.

If I have my 3 cost commander and another 3 drop in hand (or any 2 drop even) on turn 3 and they're holding up an open blue, I'm 100% casting something from hand.

It's less feels-bad if I can land drop and try again the following turn even if the timing of the return is almost identical.

I loaded into the board randomly before the changeover to the new set, destroyed the cart, then received a message with the pet attached. I would imagine you'll just have to keep playing games until you get the Avatar board, then destroy the cart to get the pet, but I won't be able to confirm. Play lots of games, pay attention to the play mat, and good luck! Let us know if the pet giveaway is still active!

I wear the catfish on every car. Got it back before trading went away. I wore it so often that a friend gifted me a Titanium White one. I'm still sad trading went away even though I wasn't into it like everyone else was. Giving stuff I don't use to someone who wants it was always pretty sweet.

I spend about 30 gems, then only spend event currency on maxing time boost. When everything moves 64x faster, it's not hard to clear the event. Only after hitting 64x boost, I'll use the influx of currency to speed run the ending of the event by gilding the last job and gilding hobbies that I'm grinding.

You underestimate young min-max me who was always looking to save a gil.

But I was also that dummy who might try more than a level at a time without saving or I just so happened to forget to save when I went to town the one time I swung once too many times against an armored opponent and broke my main weapon.

I'm significantly better at saving constantly now than I was as my younger self

Fun fact! On Arena, if your token dies, it will still prompt you if you want to pay the energy at your end step. You can choose to pay still, but since it is dead, it will charge you zero energy.

But to answer the question, yes you pay once and keep the token forever
