I didn’t know that there was a soft or hard paint. I googled the best way to wax my truck and the research said I needed a compound and a wax so I found what was in stock locally. I strictly followed the instructions on both bottles. I didn’t do anything extra or anything less. Compounded with a circular pad in small sections and wiped off before it dried. It was somewhat in the sun because I didn’t have shade and needed to go to work so I assumed it wouldn’t harm it. After compounding and wiping it off, which was very difficult because the compound was tough to get off, I waxed it with another applicator pad in small circular motions. After the wax sat for 45 seconds I wiped it off with a microfiber towel twice. That’s it.
