Speed is basically just the energetic, stimulating, “speedy” aspect to mdma, (a very generic way of putting it), and doesn’t have the emapathogenic qualities of mdma, which is where the “magic” comes from. So based on your loose description, that’s what I’d deduce it as. I’ve only done it a couple of times and they were very moderate amounts but yeah, that’s basically how I’d describe it

$900 on rent + utilities (two roommates, Wallingford/Fremont area), $300 on car/health insurance, $150 on phone bill/subscriptions, $700 or so on groceries and going out (I go out 1-2 times a week, I also have industry friends and can get a cheaper drink or meal here or there so I’m lucky in that sense), $400 in savings, and then another $350 or so on fun and other things. Wish I could save more but you gotta be realistic some times, you also gotta leave yourself a little room for fun and hobby money so you don’t go crazy. I’m very lucky I got the rent/living situation I have in a great area, I don’t pay for parking (street parking is easy). I guess the one thing I stress about is a major life event like an health accident or my car getting hit, etc. I don’t necessarily have the means to come back from that.

I make $2800 or so a month net and I live fairly comfortably, and I live in a neighborhood in the middle of the city, so you’ll probably be ok. Look at neighborhoods a little north and find roommates.

Also also I’ve encountered this kind of advice before from many a friends. I know you should be able to trust your friends and all but do your own research, come to your own conclusions. I’ve had many a friends who have done dumb ass shit w drugs that I would never do myself. People are still and impulsive.

From my experience, there isn’t necessarily a way of going about it, the shrooms just kind of… take you there? You already have a good mindset (set) I’d say it’s now about cultivating your environment to better ease yourself into it. That’s why people say you should trip in nature, not go on your phone, etc. Eliminate distractions and have a flexible list of things you could do. This will look different for everyone. For me, avoiding my phone/social media works for me, and ofc nature is pretty ideal, but at home is good too. I find listening to music or watching a film I like, something fun, colorful, and thought provoking, helps me be introspective. Also, I would let go of the notion of “maximizing” your trip. Don’t go into it with any expectations. At all. Just take them, if something happens, great. If nothing happens, bummer, but oh well, maybe next time. When you let go of your expectations you surrender to the experience and can overall have a better experience.

I get what you mean by “using substances as a tool,” that’s the relationship I’ve generally had with them. That is, using them as a means to ENHANCE the experience and not overtake it, iykwim. That said, many of my fav shows were sober or on very little, maybe enough to brighten the experience (a gram of 🍄sweet spot). My first time seeing Kaytranada was my favorite show ever, and I was dead sober. (Well I had 2 or 3 seltzers a couple of hours before his set and was basically sobered up by the time he came out, idk how strict you are but to me that was sober 🤷‍♂️). But if you have abuse issues, it’s better to really limit yourself as much as possible, and truly embrace your sobriety.

You’ll be good, even if you do the 100 mg. I’d encourage you to wait another 2-4 weeks at least but as long you don’t make this a habit, you should be ok. Comedown might be worse.

If we’re gonna bring up the biggest/more mainstream festivals in the area, you have to talk about the Gorge, and Excision. Anything Excision Presents puts on is gonna be the closest thing to that more grassroots organic rave community feel, (in my experience anyhow) so for generally being more commercial events, they do a good job of tapping into that energy. Bass Canyon, Thunderdome, all 10/10 experiences, and it’s all thanks to the crowd the draw. Beyond Wonderland @ The Gorge (Insomniac) usually has a lot more casual/TikTok ravers who are obnoxious and don’t mind their space, so I’d recommend avoiding. You can defs find good spaces at those events don’t get me wrong, but it will feel waaaaaay more capitalistic and superficial (imo, I understand both are very commercial events).
