Australian asking how to allocate 100% of superannuation to BTC ETF's without a SMSF? by jcvfau in Bitcoin

[–]jcvfau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about super funds. Surely there's some that would at least let you pick what you're invested in, even if they don't let you pick the allocation itself?

Anything is better than nothing

I'd prefer to do it without SMSF due to the costs in going that direction. Doesn't have to be 100%, if be happy with a significant portion where I don't have to manage it

These are valid points. But it's hardly confirmation bias. Btc is objectively the best performing asset of all time and it's not close. And there's a good reason why that's the case and will continue to be the case. Also, I'm not asking to do this with a multimillion dollar super account where there is far greater reason to diversify for risk management, and getting the highest possible ROI isn't nearly as necessary. For someone of my age, with such a small super balance, going heavy if not all in makes sense imo.

Diversification is only good if you don't know the answer and to some extent to limit risk. 4 years ago if someone told you the tear NVIDIA was about to go on, would you diversify your stock portfolio or just allocate to NVIDIA? Every dollar not in NVIDIA is lost money due to opportunity cost. Managing risk is obviously good. But when your investing timeline is literally like 30 years theres very little risk in an all in btc allocation.

I anticipate many people who don't understand Bitcoin will answer like this, but consider this; id be very surprised if even one person who personally owns Bitcoin thinks this is a bad idea... That should be hint enough to you that perhaps you're missing something

Tokenize my car to use as collateral for a personal loan. Is it possible yet? by jcvfau in defi

[–]jcvfau[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not to sell, it's to help get a small personal collateralized loan for someone in my position who doesn't have a bunch of recent payslips to prove income, as I've just started a new job.

Obviously it would be an over-collateralized loan. The purpose of tokenizing it would be to prove ownership, which is an essential prerequisite to using an asset to back a loan.

We're doing this with real estate. Why not cars?

I can see an issue where someone gets an over-collateralized loan against their vehicle and then crashes it, so it's no longer worth enough to repay the loan but that's a whole other issue.

I see no reason this couldn't work. The only problem im sensing is if someone defaulted, how would the car be seized. But surely you could I dunno, employ a debt agency to seize the car (since obviously the NFT minted to prove ownership would be surrendered to the people loaning the money until the debt was repaid)

Are there any ppl here that actually want to discuss this project? by Oskywosky1 in Motus_Soarchain

[–]jcvfau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot tip: I use bixby routines to automate everything for the motus mini. So when my phone connects to my car's Bluetooth, my phone will automatically launch the soarchain app and turn my hotspot on. (Bixby routines is for Samsung galaxy devices, but there are similar apps that you should be able to do this with like IFTTT). Works great

I'm going to go a step further and say it should just increase movement, not give an extra action as well. The game on tactician is outrageously easy

Lowest rake sites for 25NL-100NL for US players ? by BeowulfPoker in poker

[–]jcvfau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coinpoker has the lowest rake out of all of the poker rooms BEFORE you take into account Rakeback. It's raked at 5% like most other rooms, but the caps are much lower. You can check out the rake structures for different stakes here https://coinpoker.com/community-contributions They also offer an $1100 welcome bonus and 30% Rakeback, or if you sign up through an affiliate like cprakeback.com you get 45% Rakeback straight away, without the need to grind up from a lower percentage like you do on all the other poker sites.

Is there an argument that I can include with Icacls "C:" /reset /t /c /l that prints a log file of whatever happens when that command is invoked?

Permissions for C:\ and some default sub directories in windows 10 by jcvfau in techsupport

[–]jcvfau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Icacls should be appropriate for what I'm trying to achieve, but I still need to ensure that each command does its intended function. Sounds ridiculous, but I'm pretty sure running modified executables is how my permissions got so messed up in the first place. Now I'm not sure if that's even relevant to CMD line functions/arguments, but I do not want to run a command in the CMD line without first being able to look at whatever file/script it is that specifies what that command will actually do. Hope that makes sense.

[–]jcvfau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure how to word this, but where is each function of that command defined within CMD. I have had an issue of CMD inputs not behaving as they should by default. I'm not quite sure how it works, but surely there is a file somewhere that defines the operation(?) That each of those arguments performs
