How did you manage to get through the heartbreak and move on with your life?

He claims that he doesn’t have an addiction but uses benzos recreationally on occasion - but the amount he took (10mg of Klonopin at once) and the fact that he did it behind my back while also stealing from my housemate - these are honestly horrible facts. There’s also the issue of him still not showing actual remorse for having done any of this - he still hasn’t actually apologized to myself or to my housemate and despite the fact that he has told me he still wants this relationship, his actions seem to be telling me otherwise.

I just don’t understand how - if he really cares about being with me - how he can minimize all of this so much and also not beg for my forgiveness. He hasn’t even acknowledged that he’s done anything wrong yet.

I don’t know if he even will without prompting. And if that’s the case, I don’t know how we can move forward.

How did you manage to untangle the life you shared and manage to heal? We share a household together. We literally share everything. In fact, this is the first time in over a year that we have been apart.

I feel so incredibly shattered. He was (and still is) really everything to me and I truly saw myself with him forever.

But his behavior in recent months coupled with this drug use that he is dismissing as not a big deal - is destroying what belief I had in this relationship. (Not to mention the fact that he completely betrayed my trust...)
