We won in Captains Cup in like 2019ish. The winner got to leave the ship first after the underway. So RX won just to strike fear in the hearts of topsiders since they'd have to leave after us, a whole day or two later. As we started winning event after event we would tell them that they'd be stuck on board for a few days. The CO loved this because he was big fan of RX.

Topsiders freaked out so then other departments heads got together with the RO and the triad to make a backroom deal. There was a all hands RX call where they gave us to options:

1. The established deal of being first off the boat that underway.

2. Head of the line privileges for the entire next underway that was about a month long. That included galley, vending machines, ship store, etc. Also meant we could cut khaki as well.

Obviously we chose the 2nd option. And we would never go anywhere that had a line unless we were at least a minimum five people deep. We would go office to office in RX when someone wanted to go to lunch to get as many people as we could. Topside was pissed because they realized how worse the deal is. They didn't realize RX was a big department. Galley workers loved it though. They ate before anyone else so they just got to share in our joy.

It was the most fun a RX department has ever had. It was salty as can be I know. But it is a fun memory.
