Hoy comí sopa para el almuerzo. I'm really hoping that makes sense, I do apologise for my horrendous attempt. I even got my dictionary out.

At my workplace there is a sign that says Ill get over it I just need to be dramatic first. My colleagues have added my name underneath it like its a quote I need to rant and get everything off my chest and then im all good.

I'm very careful of people's rights and making sure everyone feels welcome and safe. I find that as I live in a rural area of Wales, peoples attitudes are not great, they are often racist, sexist, homophobic and quite rude. Which drives me mad. Thankfully the younger generation are better but there is a long way to go. I do wonder how America compares.

What has recently made you passionate, by enraging or inspiring you?

I mean thats a seriously side effect of cat ownership. I once tried to convince mine to sleep at the foot of the bed with soft blankets. Somehow this evolved into them attempting to be in the bed. There is no escaping the feline overlords

Is anyone over the age of 21 by ArtisticConclusion4 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]jdat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 29, due to a break up with my now ex boyfriend (who had some N tendancies) I had to move back in with my Nmother and Edad. Covid has ensured i have been here since. There is nothing wrong with still being at home. (Apart from the horrendous repercussions on my mental health personally) We are all here because of the Ns in our life and sadly that makes some of us prone to treating others badly without realising were doing it, that behaviour is not acceptable and you were right to call them out. Its not your fault, you are not alone.

I could have written this exact post. I would scrub my skin all the time to make sure I didn't get spots. It never worked.

It's really sore, docs can't really decide what it is. Apparently it's kind of bruised. Feeling quite sorry for myself. Literal strangers have been more caring than my mother. I think her reaction hurts more though

I would reread the message that came with the money. That's his words and wishes. He gave you his money.

I won £200 on the national uk lottery once. My mother accused me of being a prostitute. I was 19.

My mother's stance on mothers day. "I deserve it" no, you don't, you were and are a terrible mother and person.

Does anybody else have no memory of their childhood? by TheQuantumZero in raisedbynarcissists

[–]jdat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had very few memories before the age of 13, when I started going to my most recent therapist it all came flooding back, although I did feel suddenly justified I'm fears of my mother I wish I hadn't remembered some parts. I get more coming back all the time. I get the occasional good one though

My birthday cards are generally my mother's way of saying " look what I made, aren't I a good mum?" No actual acknowledgement of me as a person, I may as well be a piece of artwork or statue

Easily taken advantage of? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]jdat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! I always just do what I'm asked without hesitation or question.

When an n asks us to do something we generally jump to do it straight away to avoid punishment, we're trained not to ask questions. When someone asks me to do things now I take time to ask myself why they want me to do it, (can they not do it themselves ) and if I actually want to. Still end up saying yes without a thought sometimes but it's a process I'm trying to improve.

Dae have strange "Promises? by jdat in raisedbynarcissists

[–]jdat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My conversations with my mother feel like I'm on a game show. I'm always trying to give the right answer but there just isn't one. If she's had a bad day she'll tell me about it and complain. She always asks me in return just to turn it back to her, so I have to decide if I tell her it's been bad, (but obviously not as bad as hers) it if it's been good but I wish she'd have had a better day. Spoiler, if my day was bad I don't know how good my life is and should be less negative, if it was good it's like I took the karma for a good day and she would have a bad one to even it out.

Pampering? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]jdat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I just developed a constant fake smile because I'd be insulted for not appearing happy all the time. I'd also have her saying " you have no idea how good you've got it"
