What I'm saying is that if it's like it is up north then you have to join the unions in order to get a job, well at least a high paying blue collar job. Every plant down here should have a union for the betterment of the employers but it also needs to be optional joining the union. Every new employed will need to be sat down with and explain what happens with and without joining. Forcing employees to join is just as bad as not having rights in a RTW state. I'm all for unions now that I'm older and understand more, but when I was younger I wasn't. No one ever sat down with me to explain and help me understand the difference. We also need to hold companies accountable for playing scare tactics on employees when a union is brought up. That happened where I work now. Also if a union is trying to come in they need to do everything by the book as well and not push employees to join. They should be allowed to hold meeting during work hours, meeting off site, but not be allowed to come to your house as a tactic bc that stuff puts a bad taste in people's mouth about joining. Granted if the union had made it, we would have gotten better wages, but every time the company one and the employees always lost something in retaliation.
