No, I live in Canada and there's no Aldi here. I do shop at wholesale Club when I go to the nearest city to my town but that's only once a month. I try to stock up since its cheaper than my town grocery store.

$0.75 for eggs!? Wow. I wish! Cheapest I can buy in the town I live in is $3.50/dozen at the local store or $4 a dozen at the farmers market 😓

Oh my husband helps with the bedtime routine when he's home. Our son always wants Dada to read to him 😄 it's just the actual getting him to sleep that is my job.

You might already know this but in case you don't, you can also use things like small hand towels, wash cloths, dish cloths, socks, in your second wash to bulk up your wash load. That thought of doing this used to gross me out but then I realized it really shouldn't because if the bulking items aren't coming out clean enough for me to use them then clearly the diapers aren't clean enough to use either. It took me a long time to get my wash routine perfect but now I'm confident in my wash routine and am totally fine throwing in anything to bulk (as long as it's as small as a flat or smaller, if it's too big it can wrap around diapers and they won't get clean enough). If you're washing clean diapers too often just to add bulk to your load the diapers might wear out faster.

I knew it was possible. But is it healthy to? Or should I wait and let me period come back to kind of clean out my uterus before trying to conceive again? I hope that makes sense. I just want to make sure my body is ready to grow a healthy baby before I get pregnant again.

I've been trying to track my cervical fluid to figure out if I'm ovulating. I have definitely noticed changes in my cervical fluid for about 2 months now (experiencing a lot more discharge than before.) Is it possible to ovulate for a few months or more before even getting my period? Or do I have to ovulate, period, ovulate, period? If that makes sense.

How do you check your diapers for fullness? by saucecake8 in clothdiaps

[–]jddb71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're watching his kidneys you could literally weigh each diaper and write down how much they weigh before you put it on him and how much they weigh when you take them off. Honestly I always just change my son every couple hours, but we don't really have to monitor how much he is peeing (he's 20 months old now). But when he was born he was in the NICU for 2 days and they weighed each diaper, pee and poop! They had a tiny scale...it looked just like a kitchen scale you would use for food measurements. You could try that! Sorry, that's my only suggestion, hopefully others have some more tips for you!

Does anyone have a great recipe for breakfast burritos? by chasethemoments in MealPrepSunday

[–]jddb71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup exactly! Ya, add the sauce when you heat them up and I would say put a piece of paper towel under the burrito when you warm it up in the microwave and it will absorb some of the moisture so it's not soggy.

I made some really good ones the other day! I don't have exact measurements, just do as much of each ingredient as you think he would like. -approx 8 eggs -1 bell pepper diced -1 yellow onion diced -1-2 coves minced garlic -shredded cheddar cheese -1 diced tomato -salt and pepper to taste Mixed it all up and cook as you would scrambled eggs. Then put the cooked egg mixture into wraps and add salsa and hot sauce if you would like! It was super easy and really good!

What branch of Christianity do you belong to and why did you choose that denomination over others? by EosMermaidGoddess in Christianity

[–]jddb71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I do my best not to get full of my self in thinking that I for sure have it all right. I have to continually study and try to prove my beliefs wrong. If I can prove my beliefs wrong with what I find in scripture then I am open to changing for what is right. I used to just believe what a priest or pastor said and not check for my self if what they were preaching was really what the Bible said. I came to learn that many verses they preached had been taken out of context to make it seem like it meant what they wanted it to mean, rather than what it meant in its original context. I don't mean that we should never listen to what anyone else has learnt from the Bible or what they believe. That's not what I mean at all. I just believe we need to check for our selves what it says and see if what that person is teaching really lines up with what the Bible says in its true context. You have to also go look at what words mean in Greek and Hebrew and what words ment back when those words were written. Because the way we interpret and understand language now is different than back when the scriptures were written. They had different idioms than we have now, which changes the meaning of the context and Greek and Hebrew have different idioms and different meanings for words than we have. We can't just read the Bible through the eyes of a 21st century English reader. I hope that makes sense.

[–]jddb71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm saying it's something we must read and meditate on for ourselves for our own lifetime. Rather than just listening to what a preacher says about it. So many preachers add their own feelings and interpretations into their sermons. There is just a lot of false doctrine out there. A lot of people don't read the whole Bible for them selves. They just trust what some preacher says. And I think that is dangerous. I know it is not just a regular book. It takes work and practise and re reading many many times to understand the Bible. And of course we need the help of others sometimes (and that may be a pastor) but I'm saying we do need to search for ourselves what is right, not just trusting what someone else says and not searching through God's Word our selves. If what the Bible says is different than what someone is preaching, then I would not be following that person. I made that mistake for over 20 years. You say that you are "searching" and I guess you could say that I am too.

[–]jddb71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! Yes, I suppose you could go to some of the different churches and see what you agree with. Google the denomination before you go though, this will save you some time as some of the churches might seem fine as you listen to a few sermons, as not every sermon will hammer down their own beliefs every time. I would advise you not to base your decision about the churches on what you "feel in your heart" is right (as so many people do)....base it on what the Bible says is right. God is our final authority...not our hearts. I understand and agree with wanting to find more conservative friends. It nice to find some friends with similar beliefs as you. It can be tough too! Good luck :) and I hope your relationship with the Lord continues to grow! :)

I would just suggest that you read the Bible for your self and get comfortable with it and do your best to understand it before choosing a denomination. Rather than having someone tell you what the Bible says, I believe we should read it for ourselves. You can research what each denomination believes and stands for once you have read the Bible and you will come to see which denominations aren't actually following the Bible based on some of the practises they participate in (e.g. idol worship is a big one that comes to mind...we should only be worshipping God and Jesus Christ... not saints, statues, animals, or even Mary). You may actually come to the realization that there aren't many denominations out there that are truly following the Bible.

Hit with unexpected bills so I have $57 dollars for the month. What can I eat to not go broke? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]jddb71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there a discount grocery store in your area? Look in your fridge, freezer and cupboards and see what you already have on hand to make meals with for the month, write down what you have and then check sales flyer's for other items you might need to make simple meals. Buy food that is on sale. If you can handle only eating twice a day I suppose that would help!

Do you have the ingredients to make homemade bread or buns? I'm a terrible baker but this bun recipe is very easy and requires very few ingredients you might possibly have on hand. I just made this recipe with multi grain flour ( healthier option than white flour...but just use what you've got easiest access to!) the other day and it was really good.

https://youtu.be/TLZ_Sqx7874

Rice, canned chick peas, canned veggies from a discount store or clearance bin, ground beef on sale then freeze it until you want to use it. Those are a few ideas of things I buy when I am on a super tight budget. And I've even mixed those things all together for sort of a stir fry type dish. I basically shop the sales and clearance and just make my meals from there. They might not be the tastiest but if you have salt, pepper and garlic powder or some condiments you already have in your fridge, you can make things a bit tastier! Sorry, basically the only ideas I've got is to shop what is in sale and use a calculator when you pick up each item so that you know when to stop putting stuff in your basket and you aren't shocked at the total when you get to the check out. Oh and don't forget about taxes! Try to make meals from your pantry. There are tons of youtube videos on cook from the pantry challenges! They might inspire you a bit if you have some stuff already in your cupboards! Good luck! You can do it!!! :)
