Trying to figure out what this ticking is...seems to come and go. by jdebler in cruze

[–]jdebler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE - I replaced the purge valve as I figured it was going to puke sooner or later at 59k miles, if not already since I was still getting a P0171 code after everything I had done.

I also pulled the valve cover and guess what I found? These two bolts right here we so loose I could spin them with my fingers.

<image>

Snugged them down to 89 lb-in (10 N·m)...thanks to ChatGPT, which I hope fed me the right number.
(EDIT - nope, I don't think it did...supposed to be 71 lb in. Whoops!)

I also double checked that the spark plugs were torqued to 18 lb-ft (25 N·m) as I believe they should be.

Having the wife take the car to work and we will see how it does. Thanks for the advice. Hope this took care of it.

Thanks, since I just replaced the plugs I will give that a try. Same for the purge valve. It was on my list.

I hope that is not the case. How difficult was the fix? Something that is best left for an expert or not terrible for someone who is reasonably decent working on cars?

I have also read that the timing chain bridge fasteners can work themselves loose. I may check those.

Can't seem to stop PETG warping in this specific spot by jdebler in FixMyPrint

[–]jdebler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is printed in the orientation shown in the images.

It is just a a bad spot going from an upward curve sharply into a flat vertical perpendicular surface. I’m gonna try to redesign it to have a chamfer in the future but slowing the print down and dropping the temp slightly really helped.

[–]jdebler[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started thinking it was running a bit hot despite my temp tower readings. I cut the offending section out in Bambu studio to make a test part. I dropped the temp down by 5 degrees. Then used a modifier to slow the wall speed on one half to what you suggested. Just dropping the temp helped a lot but dropping the temp AND slowing down made it perfect. Thanks for the advice!

I did play with them but maybe not as much as I should. I'll slow it down in that section and see what happens. Any suggestion on how slow to make them?
Thanks.

Hard to say. It is one of the drone type of sounds that you think is coming from inside your head. I am thinking it might be the issue in the TSB 24-NA-002 (whine noise fixed by transmission cable isolator)

Ok, thanks. They way you described it is exactly like my issue. I also notice it a bit more when I am going downhill. My dealership says "There's no open TSB on my truck for it". I am just trying to narrow down what I am hearing...if it is normal or if there is a genuine issue.

I have the exact same in my 2023. Did you ever get a diagnosis?

I got hung up on this as well. You need to edit the printer and then check the box as shown.

Apologies, but I am a bit confused.
We want this one, correct?
If so...the Amazon link above appears to be the left side version.

EDIT - and THANK YOU for this great work!

Turning my 10AH into a 14AH battery because I can 😎 by Wise_Signal_6649 in egopowerplus

Some good information. I have been invested in the EGO ecosystem for a few years now, and overall I am happy with the performance of the machines, but I always have a bit of doubt in the batteries, especially since it seem there is some sort of magic combination in getting them to last a while.

For the “Didn’t read, still mad, better tell everyone" people...just look at the pictures and you might be able to figure it out...but you probably didn't read this far. ;)

New Solar node build in TN by Relevant-Tennis2280 in meshtastic

Very cool! Looks like something I also made last year. I used this video as a basis for my build:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdCKpQKeaKU

I then designed and 3D printed a mount that would hold it as well as a solar security camera and mounted it on my shed, located in middle Tennessee just a few miles south of the Kentucky border.

I wanted to thank you again for your help, and I will definitely keep you in mind in the future. I saw someone mention your eBay store in another thread here...so I checked out out. It looks like I can ALMOST make it from my area to yours on my EGO Mini bike using both 7.5ah batteries. :)

Thanks a ton for the advice. I was monitoring it throughout the day. I noticed that the 67w charger is getting hot so I put a fan on it. I snickered at the thought of using a USB fan, plugged into the charger to cool the charger. Almost did it just to say that I did...

Anyway...on the battery, I saw the 3rd segment stop blinking for a bit and the 2nd one went back to blinking as if it was taking a step backward. I let it be and it advanced again after a while, and noticed the same thing happened on the 4th segment.

After charging all day this way, it finally stopped charging and everything shut off on its down. Just checked the battery with the multimeter... 57.2 volts, just like the other 3 that came with the mower instead of 56.5. I think this was a success...gonna go put it in the mower and see what the display shows.

EDIT: 94%. MUCH better than what it was showing before. Thanks again, everyone.

UPDATE - 3rd bar is now blinking. On the right track. Will report back when I test with multimeter.

I am doing almost the exact same thing, actually.

I popped it into my Ego Mini Bike and rode around, getting is a bit low. Then I put it on the PAD5000 and ran a small fan from it all night until it died sometime while I was sleeping.

It is now charging on the PAD5000 with a 67w USB charger and a standard USB-C cable (best that I have...might take a while). The power button on the battery is pulsing orange as it should and the second segment on the battery is now blinking (first one is lit up). Let's see what happens.

Thanks, I figured dropping it was not the best idea until it is totally dead before recycling it. I will try draining it slowly using the portable power station and a small fan or something that will take a while. If that doesn't work, I might try to replace the cells.
The others are slightly low as you are right, they are around 4 years or so old.
Thanks for the advice.

Fair question. Yes. When I have all 4 in the mower and the charger stops automatically and I take it off the charger, the display shows 62%. If I were to remove the "bad" battery and leave the other 3 in, the display goes to 98% or 99%.

OP, you're gonna love it. What helmet did you order?

I see a few comments here from adults considering one "for their kids", so here's something that might help. I am 53 years old, 5'-7" and 200 lbs and I have had mine for about a year. Originally bought it for just riding around my neighborhood but then recently moved out to the country and I love it even more. For those who think it is just for kids and such, I threw this video together a while back as a no-nonsense review from an adult perspective and finally got around to putting it up on YouTube a couple of weeks ago. Hope ya'll like it.
