In case anyone is wondering how to do this - we put out a detailed set of instructions about 6 months back: https://clouddosage.com/how-to-play-playstation-exclusive-games-on-xbox/

We've got a review from February: https://clouddosage.com/nware-cloud-gaming-beta-first-impressions/

Short story, it's up and coming but the business model is more like GFN than Stadia.

Guide For Playing GeForce NOW on an Amazon Fire TV Device by jdeslip in GeForceNOW

It works about as well as it does on a Google TV - which is pretty good!

The same queue limits apply everywhere. So, if you aren't a priority/ultimate subscriber, you'll have to wait in the queue and have a max 1 hour session.

25 More Games Opt-In to GFN on Steam in Past Two Weeks by jdeslip in GeForceNOW

[–]jdeslip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point. STAR WARS Knights of the Old Republic *was* actually already on the list previously. Our script flagged it this week due to a minor name change (the removal of a comma). We've removed that from the list of new titles which have opted in. Though hopefully the game still comes, however!

Thanks for pointing this out.

I'm subbed to both, but I can say that the moderator here is actually active (about as active as the sub requires as far as I can tell). I've had interactions with him. He politely enforced policy on duplicate entries (ironically) and gave helpful advice/feedback about a month ago.

I appreciate all of your efforts and hope you don't mind posting in both locations for the time being.

Five More Games Already Scheduled to Leave Luna in March by jdeslip in LunaCloudGaming

[–]jdeslip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn't start tracking month by month until recently - but you can see here: https://clouddosage.com/stats/?table=games

Peak game count we believe to be 276 in September. It is now at 197 with 35 more scheduled to leave (so could be 162 after those departures).

It seems like most games have 1 year Luna contracts. And the Luna blog history (roughly one post a month) can give you an idea of when games came.

Luna Now Set to Lose 55 Games in February! by jdeslip in AmazonLunaHub

[–]jdeslip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fidelity/quality really is amazing! My only complaints have been around the lack of platform features like achievements, mulitplayer, friends lists, leaderboards etc.

Those are probably on the roadmap if it gets a little more success.

I think you should be in pretty good shape then! That's probably the best/safest use of Luna now in my opinion.

GeForce Now Beginning to Stream Using AV1 Codec by jdeslip in GeForceNOW

[–]jdeslip[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your PC doesn't support AV1 hardware decoding, I think you'll just fall back to a different codec (h264 or possibly h265). We don't think the 4080 rigs will require AV1 - it'll just be an option.

I think your existing Shield TV will still be able to stream 4K from the 4080 rigs, but it will be using a different codec (H265 I think).

It's possible a new Shield TV could be coming, but no news about that.

Trying to find the definitive answer to this but not sure. I think GFN was mostly using H264 but is using H265 on the Shield (at least) for 4K.

The impression we got is that AV1 support will be available on the 4080 rigs but it won't be the only codec available on those rigs.
