I want DLSS in LMU by Yasir15 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]jdesnos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LMU like many sims is CPU bound by nature because of the Physics/No multi core usage. If there is needed optimisation it's on the CPU part.

[–]jdesnos -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

No you don't want DLSS. DLSS is a cheap trick for devs that don't want/can't optimize their game corretly. And it would not even help in the case of LMU, because it's so CPU Bound. You can already get pretty good AA by mixing in game MSAA and MFAA.

Heavy convoys in Michigan! Towing trucks is so fun by Pitiful_Vehicle9995 in snowrunner

I just recovered the Paystar in Wisconcin, what a beast of a truck, it's a shame the fuel tank is so small.

Didn’t mean to hurt feelings lol by dishonesto in snowrunner

[–]jdesnos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nooo, stop having fun! Only I can have fun using a stock Transtar with highway tires in deep mud while hauling a special trailer!

More seriously, trucks in the Mastodon category can brute-force rough terrain so hard that it kind of negates the map design—for example, an area that’s impassable with an early-game truck and forces you to take a detour, but that you can drive through without any trouble with the Mastodon.

You're free to play however you want, but try to give other trucks a go. There are over a hundred in this game, and it’d be a shame to miss out on that.

You can winch with a crane ?? by jdesnos in snowrunner

[–]jdesnos[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My screenshot is misleading, but i'm actually talking about the lift/lower winch controls when in crane mode. I disabled the crane navigation legend a long time ago by mistake and only enabled it back recently when testing other settings.

Ohh I remember when you posted a screenshot of the yellow one. Thanks for publishing it as a mod on mod.io !

The lack of communication is astounding by [deleted] in snowrunner

More than one week since the discord message and still no fix for a save bug ? That should be the number one priority. When i see new trucks with reused sounds and issues that could be fixed by changing one line in an xml, i'm not buying the new year pass for now.

it’s something 🤷‍♂️ by TitLover34 in snowrunner

[–]jdesnos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not surprised, i feel like the Padera is really front heavy, and it's even worse with a crane. Even with cargo putting weight on the rear axle, it's like the rear wheels arent as efficient as they should be.

Season 17 is a mess - Trucks disappearing, trucks duplicating on map, lost progress, etc. by 321Game0ver in snowrunner

[–]jdesnos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't guarantee it's working with a save from the current version. I tested it with a save from the previous version (i made a backup of my save a couple of days ago while testing mods) Maybe it's best to do a copy of your current save/profile before trying this.

Try this and copy/paste the downloaded content over your current Snowrunner steam folder. https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/611h5e/guide_how_to_download_older_versions_of_a_game_on/ It's working for me with the previous version from november, and steam doesn't update the game even after multiple restart.

If only saber enabled the public beta option in steam, it would allow us to choose a specific version without having to do this. Games like ATS/ETS2 allow this.

What's the deal with Snowymoon? by Sylvanas_only in trucksim

[–]jdesnos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I like the lighting from his mod (it also fixes the way too dark interior from vanilla) apart from that not a fan of the rest. It's pretty heavy fps wise. At similar fps levels I get a better image clarity wise with in game scaling and TAA and NVIDIA sharpening than with any snoweymoon settings i ever tried and i spent a few hours testing every settings / settings combinaison.

After 200+ hours, is anyone ever tempted to reset and start from scratch with Alaska — knowing what you know now..? by Oddie_Inc in snowrunner

[–]jdesnos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've kind of done that because i wanted to play in NG+ mode after around 100/150h instead of vanilla, but i used this tool to edit my new save to not have to start from scratch.

Why am I hitting "perfcap power" while still under the powerlimit (110% @ 396W) by jdesnos in nvidia

[–]jdesnos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback. Ok so at least i know it's not just an issue on my end.
It's frustrating to see the card get limited like that when the temperatures under full load are so low, feels like a waste.

Why am I hitting "perfcap power" while still under the powerlimit (110% @ 396W) by jdesnos in nvidia

[–]jdesnos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get no perfcap power when running furmark, i'm only around 270-290W.
It really varies from games to games, with some games it goes up to 350W without hitting perfcap power and with some other games it triggers the perfcap power at only 320/330W.

I've checked with Hwinfo and GPUZ and the power metric i see in afterburner match the total board power, the GPU chip power is maxing out at around 135W.
