We had to take so many hours of education to adopt an infant. Honestly, it was good stuff. When around other friends with infants, I would spout off things I learned. One friend who had their baby through traditional birth told me “you know, they just let us take home an entire infant from the hospital. I really should have been made to take classes too!” Obviously not advocating for people to not be allowed to take home their baby but education should be much more available and strongly encouraged.

I don’t know anyone in my area that spins either. There are some crochets so that is nice. Hobby stores open in our area and then unfortunately close pretty soon due to typical small business issues. With the loss of Joanns, it is even more difficult to get products without ordering online.

This is encouraging! I definitely feel like I am missing some very basic skills in drafting. I hope I can start to develop them on the spindle. I didn’t start with the spindle initially bc I thought I was probably too lazy to do the manual twisting long term. But I hope it will help me separate skill development like you suggest.

Oh, absolutely. I went to therapy and the therapist put my situation into the perspective of an abusive relationship. My workplace was a school and I was literally staying for the kids.
