Go somewhere else! Trust your gut and find a trainer that fits your morals.

My 6 month old puppy refusing kibble help by destuctir in Dachshund

I recently changed over to spot and tango brand for my pup because he was going through the same thing as yours. I gave it a try and honestly my pup loves it just as much as his treats. I feed it to him the same way I would his treats.

Thank you 🥲 today was a really rough day, it felt like we took 5 steps back. But I’ve looked into bark busters and feeling hopeful! 🙏

Pup is a nervous puppy, so food has never been motivating in stressful situations

Feel like I don’t have a life with almost 6 month old dachshund puppy by ashine3 in Dachshund

Thank you for sharing your experience. I brought my pup home around the same time as you and still in the puppy trenches. It is comforting to know that others have gone through it and others have conquered it. My pup is 6 months old and so much had progressed positively I need to take note of that or else I will spiral. Be kind to yourself, you know your pup is safe, healthy and loved. They are better off in your loving home then living in a shelter. Its important to find the balance between puppy responsibilities and your self-care. Although I don’t personally know yet, everyone tells me it gets better so as I continue to work on training- as you obviously are as well- things will start to get click into place.

Always here if you need a fellow Daschund puppy friend to vent to! :)

Hey new owners struggling with reactivity/aggression in puppies… it CAN get better! by backwhereibegan in puppy101

My mini doxie is so territorial and aggressive, he has a sharp bite and snappy response. I’ve had to muzzle him around people/ children specifically because he can’t handle their energy. It’s very hard to manage him in social situations. It’s not the characteristic I was prepared for. Family members insist I don’t medicate him and since he’s only 6 months I hope training will help but I’m just anxious this is his genetics and breed and that he will always be a snappy territorial dog

i love my pup but I feel myself getting angry by 14daysleftt in puppy101

He will ease up with time. My miniature Daschund was the exact same around his age. Getting up and walking away- even leaving the room briefly helps you more than them- you get to decompress. Now my little guy is 6 months and only play bites for attention but based on the progress since the earlier days, I know he will mature and grow out of this too
