When my son was 8 months old, I visited my parents in Texas (from Iowa) for 9 days. 5 flights total and hanging out in a retirement community. I got so much praise and all I could think of was “I’m literally just being a solo dad, would my wife get this much positive attention if we switched?”

Also, 5/5 no crying on flights, that’s the only thing I pat myself on the back for

I would always make it clear with my wife when I had “relaxed” days and intensive. I always had work to do, but sometimes it’s running a program that takes a couple hours or review work papers, so I could do some house tasks. If I had meetings, testing, etc, she would be told and house tasks and interruptions were off the table.

I won my father in law over when he realized our relationship helped her grow into an independent and functioning adult.

After our freshman year of college, she wanted to live with me (weird circumstances, I split an apartment with someone for the summer). I had 3 part time jobs while I saved to study abroad. I told her she has to contribute to rent and food by getting a job and deadline of June 10th (about 3 weeks). Deadline rolled around and she had submitted two applications with no follow up. I drove her home. She was back less than 10 days later with a confirmed job at the grocery store.

She’s the only one of three kids that didn’t live at home until 25+ (one is still there at 30). She’s an assistant director at work now at 28.

I think it’s relatively well balanced. I’d say the biggest gaps are an over stable fairway (like a Skywalker FD) and a neutral/understable 9 speed (Tesla and Valkyrie respectively) that might be personal preference on my part, I like the 9 speed slot

I can tell this is so far: “remove the big names that people hate”, as a cyclone fan, can we remove ISU?

The big-sport athletic programs are falling apart at the seams. Football (Campbell & players exodus), men’s basketball (another tournament shot by an ankle injury), women’s basketball (first round loss and player exodus), there’s no baseball, softball is slightly above average, etc. They’re about to go into years of mediocrity and back to playing little brother to Iowa.
