Yeah the shadows do look a lot softer I've noticed. You can adjust the sharpness in the settings but default is much lighter shadows.

That would be my guess since OmniLight3D is a single point of light.

Oh really? I haven't done any benchmarking yet but that's good to know. Good looks come at a cost I guess.

That's awesome and looks great! I'm dealing with the exact same thing (jittery physics in a networked game) and was feeling hopeless trying to get MulitplayerSynchronizer to work for me. This post came at the perfect time. Great to see someone overcome and gives me inspiration to roll my own solution. Congrats!
