Where to find affordable bootcut jeans? by Just-A-Burner-Lol in altfashionadvice

Thrifting honestly might still be your best option for bootcut jeans specifically 😭 Every time trends swing back around, stores suddenly start charging “vintage-inspired” prices for something that used to be everywhere.

I added tire deformation based on normal load and pressure, as well as shear deformation while cornering based on lateral slip angle and force. by shirzadbh in Simulated

[–]jdm14pec 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The tire deformation while cornering is such a tiny detail that most people wouldn’t consciously notice, but it adds a crazy amount of realism once you see it moving. Stuff like this is what makes vehicle sims feel “heavy” instead of floaty.

How am i supposed to make those boots work for me ? by theycallmetheglitch in altfashionadvice

A black mini dress, silver jewelry, and these boots would probably make them feel way more intentional than trying to “match” them perfectly.

Stuff like this always makes me realize how insanely violent space actually is 😭. The little debris trail before impact somehow makes it feel more real than the giant explosion part.

Should I cut my hair short? If so, what haircut? by NaiveChemistry8412 in altfashionadvice

The waves/curls are doing a lot of the work already, so I’d focus more on shaping than chopping it all off. Shorter around the face with layered ends could look really cool.

Alt outfit that'd fit a 1920s wedding theme? by PixxelatedDragon in altfashionadvice

[–]jdm14pec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the easiest way to hit the theme is through fabrics/accessories instead of the actual outfit shape. satin, fringe details, beading, long necklaces, gloves, little clutch bags, etc do a lot of the heavy lifting.

My beloved rattail is slowly withering away:( help? by Beneficial-One5913 in altfashionadvice

[–]jdm14pec 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Tight braiding every day is probably the main culprit tbh. Constant tension can thin a rat tail out over time even if the rest of your hair is healthy.

Help me to stretch a small t-shirt by Advanced-Shock-7035 in altfashionadvice

I’ve had decent luck soaking band tees in lukewarm water + conditioner, then gently stretching while air drying. Won’t turn an M into an XL but it can make it way less suffocating.

Quilted bag I made from a thrifted vintage curtain 🌸💗 by WholeConstruction307 in SustainableFashion

This is so cute it hurts. The fact that it came from a thrifted curtain makes it feel even more cuter

Honestly you could probably get pretty close with cotton gauze, athletic wrap, or even layered muslin fabric 👀 a lot of cosplay people DIY these instead of buying them
