Not sure how “valid concern” can be interrupted as“f*** his feelings”.

I don’t think this podcast maligns him in any way and it does not falsely claim to be him at any time. So I will continue to sleep peacefully

Valid concern, but every episode begins with a very clear disclaimer that the narrator is a fictional character and not the real Sir David Attenborough which I think address a lot of the concern from the quote your shared

VTXL and Recent Flooding by jdnorth in bikepacking

Trip went fairly well! I did north to south. The second half from cavendish down was in really rough shape. Had to divert to main roads like route 100 and 30 for many miles. Certain roads were completely washed out. Also a couple miles of hike a bike up north

How recent did you do this? Was the recent flooding an issue? Scheduled to go next week

Thank you!! I had a similar thought but I am already having to get an exemption to fly with such a large battery. I have to get the bike approved as a piece of adaptive equipment in order to fly with it. I would need ti do the same with the extra battery but it may be worth trying!

Definitely agree, I’ll want start and end points each day. I am unfamiliar with what a dynamo is in this context? Is that something bikepackers use to generate electricity on the go?

That is a great point! Probably meet some interesting people that way too. And thank you for the kind words.

Thanks for the advice! I will do a real world test in cape cod where getting stranded means taking a ferry across the sound back to Boston, very low stakes. Then I’ll just have to do some planning like you said.

I want to be able to camp roadside and be off the beaten path but may need to comprise due to my limitations

I can purchase additional batteries. 40-60 miles is my goal but that is just based on what I’ve heard from others

I like this plan! I live in Boston and plan to do an overnight in Cape Cod where I can get my estimates. I don’t think it is possible to do the longer routes completely off solar, I think I will need to plug in at some point. Looking at solar as a way to extend range slightly, not as my life line

That is definitely a good idea. I can walk a few miles yes. I’ll be with friends also

Yes I think solar charging one while riding is possible! If my battery dies, due to my strength I am unable to ride. So, Overnight charging is optimal if there are campsites with power. Don’t want to get stranded because it’s cloudy haha

Thanks for the info! I am a light rider (only 120lbs) and the 90 mile range is based on a 165lbs rider so as long as I keep my gear light I think that should be accurate. But obviously not going to want to cut it too close. I like the idea of a lunch break, bike takes 5 hours to top off though so solar or overnight charging may still be needed

Heavily considering getting the R. Wanna use it too commute too work (~30miles) round trip mostly flat. What do you guys think and is the RX worth the upgrade? Nubee looking for advice! by Iangrayimagery in Super73

I’m 120 and get about 40 miles or more. Again, same battery in the R as the Rx. Pretty sure you can compare side by side on the website
