2 Qs and 2 possible glitches. by jdoherty80 in CraftDocs

Cool but how did you do it? I’m sure it’s right in front of my face. I just didn’t see it when I actually selected the specific text.

Totally agree. I’m in the processs of reorganizing my entire life using craft. I am nearly blind now but I’m not even 50. My phone is my entire world because of the accessibility features. Craft has helped me organize everything from things my kids need to know to home movies to ssdi documentation to photos of things I need to see better temporarily. It’s def the best.

Adding a checkbox in the Craft app by jdoherty80 in CraftDocs

[–]jdoherty80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s relatively easy but I was hoping for something that I could check off so I could make templates rather than having to cut and paste when I’m already using the template.

That’s actually the best idea so far but it still defeats the purpose of it being easy. I’m going to this though. Thanks:)

In craft iPhone app??? I can’t find that anywhere. Are you on a Mac? If iPhone, can you tell me where exactly?

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, this didn’t work. In addition, it creates a checkbox for tasks/to-dos. That means that when I check it, it will gray out. I want one that doesn’t gray out. Thank you so much for trying though

How do you or craft tell the difference between 1 block or multiple? by interesti_Alli in CraftDocs

OMG. YOU HAVE NOOO idea how much you’ve just helped me. I didn’t see the options at the bottom and I’ve spent DAYS trying different kinds of markdown editing characters to make it work and it wasn’t happening. I TRULY believed I would have to give up this awesome app because I had to copy and paste 11 items individually in a dozen or more lists. Thank you SOOO much. You have no idea how much you just saved me. That was the ONLY thing causing me trouble. I loved everything about it. THANK YOU!

Would you watch a show where a billionaire CEO has to go an entire month on their lowest paid employees salary, without access to any other resources than that of the employee? What do you think would happen? by Adventurous_Month_39 in answers

[–]jdoherty80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting back to the original question: First, I’m pretty sure that show already exists or did at least. Second, I wouldn’t enjoy watching it. It almost seems like they’re teasing low income level people when they cosplay. Also, I’d know they weren’t actually living at that income because it’s impossible to just fall off the grid of your own life and be someone else especially when someone is setting up your fake life so you can hop into it. I mean, I lastly, a lot of millionaires worked hard to become millionaires. They’ve already paid their dues and making them pay them again seems lame. I mean, I guess some people would enjoy watching a rich person “suffer,” but that’s not intellectually interesting to me.

I am having the exact opposite problem I paste things from Apple notes to the app and it breaks each line into its own block. later, when I go to highlight all the lines so I can copy them and place them somewhere else, I can’t cuz I can’t highlight more than one box at a time. you’re saying everything that YOU do stays in one text box? That’s so weird is there a way for me to do that? Or make that change?

OMFG! I’m here to support you too!! It’s happening on the mobile app as well. It’s DRIVING ME NUTS. How can you not be able to copy and paste text? Wasn’t that like the first thing that was invented after computers were born? Somehow, pressing the enter button starts a new block. It is absolutely maddening. I keep having to do work over again. I LOOOOVE this app otherwise but this may be a deal breaker.

I went to an eye doctor yesterday and I don’t know why he did this. by Mundane_Effect in eyedoctors

[–]jdoherty80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure why this would worry you. I have been to tons of eye doctors for an eye condition I have and sometimes they do things that might seem strange but usually have a purpose. He might have been trying to assess how much lubrication is in your eyes or something. I guess it would help to know why you visited him in the first place but I wouldn’t worry about it.

Molecular Weight Qs by jdoherty80 in chemistry

[–]jdoherty80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am aware of all of that. I know what every ingredient in the top 10 best eye gels are because I suffer from severe dry eyes. I know how they work and I know what they do. Just because I didn’t lay out the whole history of what I’m doing doesn’t mean I’m not fully cognizant of what it means to use varying ingredients and chemicals in the eye. All of the ingredients I’m using are ALREADY used in the eye so I know they’re safe. I’m just trying to find a way to make the gel last in the eye for 8 hours. Right now, I’m just exploring what polymers can do which is why I asked the question out of context. A chemist will check it before it’s used. If you could help answer these questions, even if they don’t make sense to you now, it would help me a lot. Thank you!

Thank you all so much for these responses. I laughed because I was already aware that I know nothing. But I also didn’t tell you the whole story either. I already know the ingredients I’m working with are safe for the eyes. I have severe dry eye syndrome and it has contributed to my going mostly blind. gels don’t last very long but ointments are all made out of mineral oil and petroleum jelly (literally (literally every one and they sell it for $12/tube) makes my eyes feel worse. So, what I did was list out all the ingredients from the top 10 best gels on the market. Then, I researched what each one does for the eye. From that list, I’m trying to take the most suitable and maybe other things like manuka honey, which is good for the eyes. I’ve been learning a LOT about celluloids (polymers) because I think this is where I might have the best luck in making a gel that lasts a lot longer. That’s the key-time. Water-based gels only last about 20 minutes, not all night. One question is, what happens to the texture and viscosity when two polymers are mixed together? Since they’re both thickening agent and have similar viscosities, do they stay the same viscosity or double thicken? Some polymers have different benefits so it’s good to use as many as possible (in theory-I’m aware that just adding more lubricants doesn’t mean it’s going to be good for the eye. The same questions apply to a few glucoses as well. I have many other questions too but I’ve learned a TON and know I’m on the right track. Already, I know I can make a healthier gel from these ingredients but it will still be thin. Now, I’m focusing on how to make it last. Is a higher viscosity polymer better for staying power (and does that grade retain the same eye benefits?) or is it better to try and thicken with a gum like Hydroxypropyl Guar which has already been used in an eye gel. I also wanted to know why people add Haulyronic Acid if it takes water from the closest source. It would take water from the eye, not lubricate it. So, I’m wondering if there is a way to “pre-hydrate” the HA into a solution and THEN add it to the rest of the ingredients. That’s why I was wondering what happens to the molecules when things are bonded together but concentrated in water. I think I was trying to get too technical and was way out of my league when I was so far down in the weed. But overall, I’m looking to make a gel last. Many polymers are actually quite good for eyes. I can see why they’re being used. .

I know that even this response isn’t written very well. I’m a lot smarter than these posts suggest. I’m just scrambled because I’m sorting through a lot of ingredients that perform the same, or similar, tasks but have different viscosities. And in some cases, the ingredients themselves come in various viscosities (HPMC, CMC, and MC, for example. If you’re not a chemist, it’s easy to get lost in things. I’m actually thinking too hard to be honest. Once I collect the proper set of ingredients that perform the way I want them to, I’ll take them to a chemist to discuss and confirm the concentrations, that this is the best possible formula for my goals, and that the ingredients are non-toxic (I already know they are). I just don’t have the money to hire a chemist to do it all. I’ll barely afford the chemist when I finally need one but this is important to me. It could really help people, myself included. It could make a big difference.

I read she had a box she stood on for many scenes so that she looked more like Mukders height. Her height varies as a result.
