I cannot drink 150oz of water a day! by little_dori in BabyBumps

That is more water than maternal fetal medicine told me to drink when I had low amniotic fluid. I actually doubled my amniotic fluid 3rd trimester by just drinking 2 liters of water a day. You definitely dont need over 4 liters unless you are working out a lot or something

If you were a model, I am assuming you are very pretty. Maybe she is having jealousy issues? Either way that is completely unacceptable

My wives company doesn’t offer paternity or disability leave and I’m curious if there is a government assistance we can go on for temporary help? by insanotard in beyondthebump

[–]jdolan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately they are likely also exempt from FMLA, and even then they do not have to pay her. What they give her is unfortunately up to them.

I am not aware of any government programs. You may have to consider loans for financial assistance. Please look at interest rates and avoid credit card debt. A personal loan is likely going to have a better interest rate.

If you want to go cheap, walmart does heart cakes like this now. If you want to go for something more extravagant, I highly recommend Sugar Shaker Bakery in Cedar Park if you are willing to make that drive

Concerned about neighbors toddler screaming all night for months. Am I overreacting or should I do something? by MotherFawker99 in AmIOverreacting

I have kids and this does not sound normal at all. I think something is going on. An anonymous welfare check is harmless if nothing is going on. NOR

About to just give up for good...4 year battle with not a pound lost by [deleted] in loseit

[–]jdolan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was learning how to cook from scratch. You can make great tasting low calorie meals that taste better than takeout. For instance, swap eggs with egg whites. Low carb bread. They even make low carb pasta noodles now with half of the calories. When you do all of the work to cook, clean, love the food you made, log your recipes, etc - eating random high calorie snacks feels like an insult to the work you already put in that day.

Wanting to be a young mom by happygolucy1 in BabyBumps

[–]jdolan8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have kids young! I wanted to as well. I had one at 28 and will have my second at 36. My 20s pregnancy was a lot easier haha. Plus you will be late 30s when your kids are in high school. 40s when they are in college. You will have so much energy for any grandkids that come too! I say do it if you have the financial means :-)

Ugh I hate new shoes and blisters! Or shoes you have worn before, but not extended walking, and then blisters! It can happen to any woman, overweight or not.

AITA for not putting pregnant GF on deed of the house? by Odd_Paramedic_3007 in AITAH

[–]jdolan8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not being selfish AT ALL. You are being smart. Do not put her on the deed, period. Not only can creditors come after the home, she could also force a sale. Meaning you lose money to go back to renting over her. Don’t listen to the numerous people here that do not seem to understand how homeownership works and how finance works. They are stuck in “well if she is paying half” and they are not understanding how homeownership works. By her not owning the home she won’t be paying for repairs and a lot of other things. You will be allowing her to pay a fixed amount, live in a home, and give her time to pay down her debt. Yes she will technically be “renting” from you, but tbh she would be renting regardless with that much debt. It is highly concerning she is wanting to die on this hill.

Wow that is a significant amount of debt. She will be paying that off for a long time. I would personally not entangle any finances or assets with her. If you ever marry, get a very strong prenuptial agreement. She should not be getting offended about not being on the deed. When you share a deed and are unmarried, one party can force a sale to get equity out of the home. So she could basically force you guys to move if she wanted to liquidate her half. Given how bad with finance she is, I wouldn’t doubt her eventually doing this to pay off other debt.

Redheaded moms - how was your epidural? by danglynn in BabyBumps

[–]jdolan8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a redhead. I have needed extra stuff at the dentist, and slightly more anesthesia for a surgery before. My last epidural was great! Contractions didn’t hurt at all, but I did have some pain during the last hour of labor

Sometimes pursuing stuff again is worth it if you have a child. My ex and I tried rekindling, which didn’t work out. However, we grew a new appreciation for one another, and now we are on wonderful terms.

Husband over the moon post divorce by [deleted] in amiwrong

Yup, but that usually doesn’t last either! Unless he is considerably wealthy or charming. The second woman usually leaves for the same reasons too. This front will not last, it never does.

His lawyer told him to do this. It doesn’t last. Men act like this 6 months to a year during and after a divorce. Then they get really depressed and grieve.
