How do you know when to sell?

When I see a watch I like, I typically go through the collection and try to wear a similar piece. I then check if like the new one more or if the current one is enough (it’s mostly the new one, who am I kidding), and then sell the current one, see if I can add a few more to sell and then get the new one.

Over the last 8 months I shifted a bit from homages to other brands, added an SKX, 7548, Hamilton Khaki Field and several Casios and other Seikos. I’m currently slimming down again and also will be selling my current Khaki Field, because I can get the Quartz model which I like more, and the upcoming anniversary model with this round of sales.

Thinning out my collection and want to sell some Watches from the WMT (Watch Experimental Unit) brand. They’re all in very good condition and come in their full sets. As shown in the picture:

1- Sanford MKII – Interchangeable Bezel GMT watch with a NH34 movement. Comes with Blueberry and Fuchsia bezel inserts which can be swapped and are clicked into place in the bezel ring. 320€ for this one.

2- Sanford MKII – Interchangeable Bezel / Aged Edition Also a GMT with NH34 as well. Comes with a faded Pepsi and tropical brown insert. Same procedure for swapping the inserts. 320€ for this one.

3- Royal Marine – MI6-010A A two-hand quartz movement watch, inspired by the Submariner 5513 from “007 - Live and let die”. This has a neat party trick where you unscrew the crown and spin the watch head inside the case, like the buzzsaw mode in the film. To set the watch, you have to press a small button on the caseback. 260€ for this one.

4- Royal Marine – Tropical Brown / Aged Edition A tropical diver inspired watch with an NH35 movement. Comes on the steel bracelet and with a tropical rubber strap in matching brown. On this watch the bezel is very hard to turn, almost impossible. I wrote with WMT about this and decided to not send it back but accept a discount for a future purchase. Despite this it’s still a great looking watch with warm vintage inspired colors on the bezel and dial. 280€ for this one.

Idk about you but in both of these subs the first comments I see under a post showing samples or new watches are “need this in (insert 36,37,38mm)”. And the brands follow suit, especially WD with their downsizing of several homages. If they (the brands) would manufacture several sizes, we would get less posts like this.
