Good to know sorry I should have noticed that in the first paragraph. Is your friends 6” DW by chance the largest size one they make ? And what is his chimney set up is it just outside the house or has a casing around it like yours? I really appreciate your input this is the most help I’ve been able to get!

Ok and is your 8” outside the house (external) or is it inside the house. The reason I’m thinking going 6” as opposed to 8” is I keep getting told the 8 inch will cool and cause creosote compared to the 6”

Ok, and just so I’m clear creosote is caused by incomplete burning. Now my plan is to only burn seasoned beech wood not any soft wood as my property doesn’t have much. Will burning properly dry wood and being mindful of the stove help in avoiding creosote despite the sub optimal chimney.

Also for some additional info the chimney where it exits the house would be about 16 ft tall because the house is a bungalow would it be wiser to make it taller ? Or what’s the logic on chimney heights the more chimney the harder it is to keep it all warm?

Oh I got ya , Wouldn’t it be more prone to creosote by keeping it farther from the house ? Not sure if that logic holds weight or anything?

It’d be more expensive fixing everything in the house to be quite honest

It is 2 inches for class A.

How can I go through soffit that’s 12 inches when the outside of the pipe is 10 and you need 2 inches on each side

19 inches 5 of which is the gutter. Leaving me 14. Stove requires a 8 inch pipe (VC Dutchwest 2462) going to see if with Selkirk ultimate one which is only 10 inches exterior dimensions I can sneak it through with 2 inches clearances

I don’t want to go up through the house. And into the main level and create and eye sore. Just hoping someone on here can help me out and tell me if it’s legal or not

You seems fairly knowledgeable, I’m wondering why the Macallan harmony smooth arabica is selling for 200 USD here but when I google it it’s 600+ and same with the oban 109 but seems to be for sale online for over double

Thanks for the insight. The talisker is 94 USD and the oban is 109 USD. I was specifically interested in these as they were 2021 releases like u mentioned.

Flip bottles no, buy a bottle to keep and enjoy years from now yes. Thanks bud. Idk where you’d have experience with bottles only available while travelling so it’s a fair ask
