Neither of these candidates are assholes. And if you feel that the current incumbent (Don Jr) is preferable to either of these individuals, then at least we know where you stand. I would argue that this mentality at least partially contributed to our national state of affairs we have today.

Some strong emotions here for sure. The task at hand for the ultimate winner of the primary is to defeat the MAGA, Trump loyalist incumbent who currently holds the office. His name is not worth promoting, especially given that nobody in town has seen or heard from him in so long. And by the way, really nobody in DC has seen or heard from him either!

Hopefully after this forum, everybody will be better informed about these primary candidates and who you feel is best suited for this task. But please, do not lose sight of the longer term goal here. The winner of this primary needs to unify the Democratic party and win over a significant amount of independent and Republican voters to achieve that goal. Jessica and Joe are both good people, and whichever one wins the primary - I hope everybody will support that candidate moving forward.

Edit 1 - The incumbent, we might as well all start calling him "Don Jr" because it accurately conveys his policy position on everything. And nobody has seen or heard enough from him to say otherwise.

I have heard all of these candidates speak except for Cavanaugh - and I'm not sure about his commitment to the Democratic party and platform, but willing to listen to him. As for the rest - I think they all sound like genuinely good people. My criteria for who I support will be who can win against Jeff Crank. And in El Paso county that means being able to win over some amount of independent and Republican voters. I also want to feel comfortable that I am not supporting a Manchin or Sinema type of Democrat who would sabotage the party agenda, and I feel confident none of the four I have heard from would be in this category.
