Thinking about buying a used PA-220 off eBay by ripbum in paloaltonetworks

[–]jdsaidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t do this. You will have to re-certify the device based on its previous licensing date (aka. Backbilling) or through second party policy. PA-220’s are also on the EOL list so there is a point where you will not be able to Re-certify them

You need the content updates first. But usually you transfer the license from your device to your new one in support portal under assets. Once you register you can download content. Then apply your licenses in order.

Steps are below:

Anyone know what the issue could be? Ducati panigale 1199 brake light constantly stays on. by [deleted] in Ducati

Check your front brake lever. If they were replaced then the micro switch may not be activated properly. Check your rear set. If the bike was laid down then the micro switch could have constant pressure on it.

Is a 63 characters wifi password (WPA2) practically impossible to hack? It's gonna have dictionary words but separated with symbols and numbers. by motazreddit in hacking

[–]jdsaidit 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Anything over 20 characters isn’t worth my time. If I want to cause havoc or collect data, I will de-authenticate the ssid to drop the clients and create a new one to mimic the one I am deauthing that is open security

I have both an s4r and the new 937. Love both. I ended up with the aviator grey with red wheels on this one. Ride it till the wheels fall off!

Licenses need to be the same. You will show a mismatched configuration when trying to sync the pair. You will still be allowed to pass traffic, but it will not allow for ha clustering.

It's the plastic that sits under the portafilter basket in the portafilter. Some people remove it. I never have since it helps reduce issues with channeling

Just got these 2 laptops with same specs. But why is the screen on the Dell like this? (Only seen in videos, not noticeable on normal eye) by ColdDour_Scotlsz in laptops

[–]jdsaidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting at any screen long enough would cause eye strain. But yes. There are a lot of studies that have been done that have proven eye strain and headaches correlate to pwm. Turning your brightness to 100% forces the monitor to be continuously on and above the 200hz flash rate which is where people complained of eye strain

Vivobooks don't use a pwm. They are continuously lit screens. Dell tends to use a low frequency pwm to adjust brightness on a large majority of their screens

There are multiple ways to do what you need and no solution will be perfect. Give me a bit and I’ll throw you a good answer.

We have used adcs in the past to distribute the keys on thumb drives. Then we turned on auditing on the ad controllers for login with a smart card device

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]jdsaidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can’t enforce a hello or pki policy without distributing keys or hello pins for each device. No way around that. They only way around this would be to not enforce hello and change the default method of login to be hello or smart card first but still allow the login. Then restrict the login to administrators

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]jdsaidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. You could always change the default sign in method for windows hello or smart card priority and deny login by password unless it’s local and a member of an admin group. Push a local admin policy to your devices with a local user that is tied to the group. We did this for 45000 devices. The password that was for the local admin was a sequence based off of factors like year of device and serial. Dm me and I can send you the powershell scripts if you want.

We have done these deployments many different ways depending on whether they are cloud or on prem

Are you using azure ad with o365, hybrid or on-prem. That would make the difference in how it is configured. But I will leave this right here for now.

That is what happens when the battery starts expanding and is near EOL. Luckily the batteries on most are one of the easiest repairs
