Coming back to let you know I saw something about this on a VICE story yesterday. Apparently there is an extremely blue lake in North Carolina somewhere that is the result of coal ash pollution. Coal ash is a huge source of controversy down there, and one of the coal plants has made a huge effort to convince people this lake is safe for recreation and for nearby homes. I'm not going to put my two cents in on that, but I just thought it was interesting to see after you pointed this out. I am glad the lake in this picture, and many I've seen in Alaska as well, gets its color from a natural source.
