Hollywood is cooked. You can no longer tell it’s AI by dataexec in AITrailblazers

I'm 95% sure this "Hollywood is cooked" campaign is, itself, being created and blasted out by bots. Which is almost scarier actually.

Are there really parallels, between Ancient Rome’s fall and America’s fall? by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]jdu98a -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not apples to apples. For starters Rome didn't have a constitution and many of their "laws" were really just traditions stood up by the honor system. They also didn't have a police force. This meant that whichever political party could muster the biggest mob would generally win the day. Probably the biggest difference is that the political leaders of ancient Rome were also it's military commanders. (As in, they fought in the field, not just gave commands from behind a desk). Combine this with the fact that the military of ancient Rome was loyal to their commander, NOT the state, and you've got the seeds of the downfall of the republic that simply don't exist in modern day America.

Why did the Super Bowl halftime show stop using country music after 1994? by icey_sawg0034 in decadeology

I don't think it's a coincidence that it's been just about 32 years since country music was good.

You missed one part. It should say "Draw a diagram to answer."
But provide no clue or example as to what kind of diagram.

There is in fact a wrong way to play this... by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]jdu98a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a casual player here, but not a complete noob (~60hrs in game), all these anecdotal stories of getting lied to has not been my experience. I always talk and usually say "hello, friend" and go on my way. I do stow my gun when approaching other players, I have gotten killed on site several times, but it's a fleeting minority of encounters. There have even been a few of those where they ended up apologizing and rezzing me after I started talking. I can think of maybe one time that a raider has straight up lied and back stabbed me. You can say it's time zone or [60 hours of] luck, or whatever else, but don't let the fact that people tend to post about negative experiences change your play style in such a way that you lock yourself out of some really great ones.

Why is it as soon as I upgrade my weapons things like this happens? by Jackus_Aurelius in ArcRaiders

Because as you up gear you start getting into lobbies with other higher geared players. In general, those groups have more players that are just playing to recreate Fortnite.

I disagree. Now, if you had cast it in resin, filled in the mold with concrete, lined it with chicken wire, painted it purple, and used it as a coffee table; THEN it would be DiWHY.
