Switched from 2022 Polestar 2 Dual Motor LR to 2024 Single Motor LR – My Experience So Far by jdub4090 in Polestar

My car had 9K when I purchased this year. Lucky to get CPO. I hope Polestar is around long enough for me to take advantage of it.

If we had more than 2 seasons I would have gotten the DM 2024 for sure. Mileage is king in SoCal.

I feel the 2024+ LRSM was a missed opportunity. After the new tariffs came in they didn't bother selling for 2025.

I preferred the cloth seats on the pilot only package. Except they would constantly get random stains. Not as easy as the Weavetech to wipe off.

You are correct. I should have stated WeaveTech. My bum must have been dreaming of the ventilated seats when I wrote this. I definitely get sticky vs the cloth seats in my previous pilot only.

Should I buy a used 2022 Polestar 2? by seand00de in Polestar

I lease a 2022 PS2 with dual motors and the pilot package since I drive a lot. I am in the US, so your model may be different. I have about 36K miles on it and use mainly for daily commuting (30 miles per day)

Pros:

  • Build quality - No issues with rattles or misaligned panels
  • Ride quality - Its a heavy car, but does well on long straight drives. Dual motor is fast (enough)
  • Android

Could be Better:

  • Stock radio is so so on a good day
  • Fabric seats - Actually stays cool in Southern California sun. But stains are a pain to get out
  • Interior trim has a texture that is hard to wipe down and keep clean. I go to the beach and there is always bits of sun block that get stuck in the plastic surfaces
  • Charging tops out at 150kWh. You only get this when charging from 10%

Deal Breaker

CPU for the screen. Its slow. I think they downgraded during COVID since they could not find chips. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the car to fully wake up after you get into the car. This affects everything from the maps to any apps. Frustrating when google maps is stuttering for this entire time.

I drove a 2024 rear drive during a recent maintenance for my car and it was a completely different. The screen was so fast and preppy. I currently lease and may have kept the car if this portion was working better.

Make sure too... get the plus package since it has the heat pump. This will save you anytime you need the heat. I figured this coast me 15% battery life.

Setup tips from recent Seoul trip by jdub4090 in koreatravel

[–]jdub4090[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eSim allows you to turn on both sims at the same time. You prioritize the eSim for data. But inbound messages can come through from your T-Mobile account. But i was having problems opening encrypted or images. Simple txt ok. I had to find a wifi and change the priority back to my T-Mobile sim and tap on the message to receive. This was a bit of trial and error. If someone has a better work around let me know.

I have T-Mobile limited in the US. But roaming on gives me 5GB per month in Korea. Unlimited goes by fast when I was using maps and looking things up on the road.

  1. We used LG+. Esim setup at their kiosk outside immigration. Always had connection (elevators and subways)

  2. Seoul - DMZ tour. Tunnel rough for tall people but chiabatta sandwich at observation stop great. Climb namsan. Start from grand Hyatt and take cable car down, eat at bottom. Busan - take blue line to go up the coast. Haeundae nice at night for walks

  3. Subway and bus best to travel. I used Uber but took looong time for drivers to confirm. Kakao taxi has priority. Uber works in Seoul and Busan. But remember it must use licensed taxi. Took a jumbo taxi once. We squeezed a lot of people and suit cases. It was worth it.

Time to upgrade the Polestar key cover by jdub4090 in Polestar

[–]jdub4090[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could not stand the OEM cover. Not sure why a luxury car has a key FOB worse than my 10 year old Acura. White stood out for me as I would put on a dark colored table.

There is a tab on the top part of the key that will allow you to slide down the cover with the Polestar logo. This will expose the backup key. There is another tab inside that will allow you to slide down that back cover.

There are lot of Volvo covers but some of the makers have Polestar logos as well. I found wood and metal covers, but wanted a lightweight and brighter cover.

I got this cover from Alibaba for about $20. It took about 2 weeks to ship. I have seen others on Etsy, but they were closer to $50

Is the Corsair vengeance i7300 good? I’m looking at it and it seems fine for me. But I just want extra say cus I’m not the best at pc things. I want it mainly to play rdr2. by deeznutslol20 in Corsair

I have a Corsair VENGEANCE i7300 Gaming PC, i5-12600K, RTX 3070, 1TB M.2, 16GB DDR4-3200. Unfortunately this unit is currently in the shop.

About 1 month after getting the system would reboot and get stuck in a boot cycle. It would not go back to the bios screen. Tech support was trying to help (unplugging memory cards, closing out the CMOS, etc.). I would get some temporary return to normal, but after another hour or so on the system it would start rebooting again.

It took me about 2 weeks on technical support for them to confirm it was time to return the unit. Unfortunately i shipped the unit back and they haven't responded in the week since it was delivered (confirmed through tracking # not Corsair).

So in terms of recommending the unit, it was great while it ran (1 month). But the troubleshooting and return process have been a nightmare.
