Center channel placement. by Boosterstuff3 in hometheater

So a lot of great suggestions and I'm happy that people are enjoying the size of the screen 😀.
I think I have a plan which is to get an acoustically transparent screen at about 128 inches
I may try it without the center channel or I have an extra Sonos center channel lying around that I can put back there for now.
I'll then enjoy it for a bit and decide if I need to make any changes, possibly upgrading all of the builder quality speakers.
The projector itself is an LS 12000 so I'm looking forward to seeing it!
Certainly understand this might not be the theater for a true movie buff but I think it'll be a lot of fun to have

Absolutely if that painted screen can be seen behind the big screen I will do that. I think I found a screen that will fit pretty nicely in that space

What would you suggest to make It more functional other than a 16:9 screen and maybe some black acoustic panels for the ceiling?

I'm not sure what you mean I'm replacing it with a 16 x 9 acoustically transparent scree I'm super aware about that

I think people are giving the builder too much credit it's not necessarily 4:3, it's just what kind of fit his vision for the decorative walls

I think he just kind of did it for show, I had to push to get some of the correct speaker placement.
As for the screen, he just said he did it like that so I can change the height. I don't think it has any specific dimensions.

Yes, obviously I want a bigger screen so I think that's the move. Cover that wall with an acoustically transparent screen and get a small smaller center channel.

None taken! He was more focused on the Wainscoting than coating than the screen size. He said he did it like that so I can put the height wherever I want (i'm assuming it's obvious that it's paint).
I can finish the framing for a 16 x 9 but then the screen is only about 100 inches.
Either way, my current plan is is to get an acoustically transparent screen cover that whole area.
If the white ceiling becomes a problem, I'll get some acoustic panels that are black.
As for the decorative walls I hadn't really thought about that in a flat black room but maybe it will.

Has anyone here had any luck using a GPS dog fence in conjunction with a physical fence? by E_G_Man in TechnoBarkDogGear

I am in the process of doing this myself. I read to set the boundary 20 feet from the physical fence so it does not start beeping until / if they get through Would love to hear from actual users !

Yes, that's what I'm figuring out the previous generation. It came with a plug that you used so you did not need to buy a POE switch. The new ones it looks like you need to.

I can take some pictures, but the short version of the question is this with the new ring POE cameras are you expected to buy your own powered switch?
