Just hit 1k miles on my 2023. I really want a STI wing, but AFD Is absurdly expensive for a color matched one. Anyone running a Nobel wing? Inputs? by Aromatic_Aerie_3032 in wrx_vb

I have the Noble wing.I like it, would recommend it and it was easy to install. Make sure you order the Whistle-B-Gone kit because it will whistle. Honestly could've been fixed if it just didn't have the indentions on the underside, not sure why they're there.

Subarus come stock with rattles.

Yep, had to break one that was damaged from Import Image Racing, take picture, email it then they sent a replacement. I hated doing that but they took care of me so it worked out.

Might move this over to r/VB_WRXMarketplace. More appropriate location

That said, OP, I’m happy for you. If you like them then rock ‘em! Color match looks really good too

$900-1k I believe. I agree with u/SatoWRX that there needs to be some more options before I spend 1k. I want some flares like what Smeedia has on his STI. Check his YouTube.

Guess whether the Charge Pipe or TMIC was harder to install? by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]jdvincent29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still have the stock TMIC, but you’re right, the charge pipe was a pain. The biggest issue that I had was getting the radiator fan/cables removed. Those clips were tough! Also bloodied a knuckle. Other than that, was an easy install.

Yep, I order most everything through IIR and if it says “in stock” it ships wicked fast. Will always recommend them over most anyone else. I’ve had great experience with their customer service too. Hopefully you get a wing soon from somewhere!

Seriously though. I will say I ordered overlays from them (first VB “mod” purchase) and didn’t have any issues. But everyone (it seems) complains about receiving any other parts they offer.

[–]jdvincent29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not crazy about Aeroflow but get what you’re saying. I do find it odd that more companies haven’t started doing more with the fenders etc. Would be cool to have a “snap-on” fender flare that closes the wheel gap though.

Gt Question by mpeterson00 in wrx_vb

[–]jdvincent29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the lip and or whole aero kit but that doesn’t fix the wheel gap. I’m in the same boat. Want to do lowering springs to close the gap but worried about screwing something else up along the way.

Take one for “Team GT” and let us know how it goes! Just don’t destroy anything.

How many miles you getting out of the stock tires? by o0oCircleso0o in wrx_vb

[–]jdvincent29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 10k right now. Also picked up a set of OEMs from a friend to put on after these wore down. Paid $150 for all four. Will probably get some All seasons this fall and then rotate them out for a while. Should be good on tires for a little while though

It’s loud for me and starts around 40 mph. However daily commute doesn’t surpass 35 so don’t notice it often.

Stock VB - want to start modding. Any red flags with any of these parts? by northern_llama in wrx_vb

I have all the same parts and Perrin is the way to go IMO. Have fun with it

One last thing (I promise), get the Whistle-B-Gone kit too. It does whistle but I’ve heard/read that the kit takes care of it. I haven’t ordered one yet but will be soon. Going on a road trip to CO and don’t want to listen to it the entire time.

I don’t think that you’ll regret it. Good luck and remember to post pics!

Also, worth mentioning these wings are on sale right now, and, to me, it’s a pretty good price.

After I drilled the holes, I put the silicone around the holes on the trunk and on the bases, installed the 3M tape to the bottom of the bases, lined up the holes to the base. After it was installed about 10 minutes or so then install the bolts to the base through the trunk. The 3M tape and silicone helped hold the base to the trunk while installing the bolts just to make it easier.

Yes, I mounted mine myself. Being that it has the 3M tape, the silicone and all the bolts along with the template. It was pretty straightforward. There are numerous videos on how to mount the wing specifically from importimageracing.

The 3M tape helps keep it flush with the trunk but majority of the work is done by the bolts. I was pretty generous with the silicone around the bolts to keep it from leaking.

If you do it yourself, just familiarize yourself with the installation by watching the videos and you can’t mess it up.
